CHARGING A 1 DAY USED SANDISK SANSA MP3 4G

After downloading 330 songs to my clip, it won't let me put anymore songs on it. When I plug it in I keep getting disconnect messages and then a quick connected message, then it says (on the bottom of Rhapsody) mp3 is scanning please do not disconnect. It said the songs were transferring then it errored out on the rhapsody site.

I escaped out of Rhapsody and I plugged the clip back into the usb port to charge it, it doesn't give me a charging signal, keeps saying writing and connecting but I don't have the Rhapsody site open even.

Run the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisks' website and start over from scratch. Usually this problem is caused by trying to transfer too many songs at once, but any number of Rhapsody errors could have caused this.

SanDisk Sansa C240 1 GB MP3 Player only shows half empty battery picture on screen and wont turn on. So it needs fixing.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved from Misc to model category.

Replace the internal Li-Po battery, but try a reset first.

If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

Hello,

Restoring your player can be done in 2 main steps:
>>1. For updating the firmware, the player should be switched to MSC mode.
This could be done through the menu. When not knowing what the display shows, use the forcing method in next link:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61/sno/0
See the Sansa Clip steps below:
1. Turn device OFF.
2. Slide the Hold switch down to Lock (orange color showing).
3. Press and hold the center button while connecting the device to the PC.
<<

>> 2. Once connected in MSC mode you can use the firmware updater when having Windows operating system, see next page:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/300/kw/firmware%20updater/r_id/101834
<<

For others who have MAC or Linux operating system you can not use the firmware updater: firmware should be manually downloaded from Sansa Forums and installed afterwards:

I can't put music into my sansa clip on my mac ibook wat can i download?

Hello,

There's a Sandisk Answers support site. Entering mac leads to:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/list/kw/mac/r_id/101834/search/1

Next link ( 4. ) tells how to use iTunes on a MAC for transferring files to mp3 format:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1141
Download iTunes ( version 9 ):
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Manual for the Sansa Clip ( readable with Adobe Reader ):
http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/UserManual/CLIP/CLIP_UM_English.pdf

After transferring music to the supported format,
use the Drag and Drop method as described on page 11 (=page 9) for putting songs in the MUSIC folder.

Look on page 22 (=page 20) for the supported file formats.

My sanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player will not charge anymore. At least not on the computer I'm on. I have had it hooked up to charge for 2 days now and nothing. Why is this and how can I charge it?

This is direct from the sansa FAQs at http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs 02. Why won’t my Sansa Clip charge when I connect it to my computer? USB Cable
Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable.

Computer in Hibernation mode
Make sure that the computer isn’t entering hibernate or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be on in order to charge your player.

USB Port 2.0
Make sure your player is connected USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).

USB Port location
Try plugging in different USB port (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); sometimes the front USB ports have problem charging up the device.

Battery
Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.

Latest firmware
Make sure to update firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.

I hope this helps, and don't forget to rate the answer.

I could listen to some songs

Prob need to format the player
1. put player in msc mode (settings menu under USB)

2. go to my computer and rightclick on sansa

3. format box: choose quick format

4. format complete, allow player to stay connected to computer for 10 mins

go to sandisk.com and under downloads, download the updater to keep this from happening again, put the updater on your computer so each time you plug it in, it will look for updates

make sure you do not put questionable files on the player such as itunes or mp4, as they will "bad track"
