I have a four in one Lexmark x5630 printer and have replaced cartridges with brand new black and colour 36 & 37xl. The printer won't even print a test page - just says that cartridge error co

The problem could be due to a communication failure between one of the printheads (cartridges) and the All-In One (AIO) or by a short in one if the printheads. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
  3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  7. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
Try to contact the store where you bought the new cartridge(s) and have them replace it. You may also contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance (especially if you're using genuine cartridges).

I have a Lexmark X6690 and bought new Lexmark print cartridges today - Black and Colour. The printer is recognising the colour cartridge but not the black one. Driving me nuts!! Please help x

Try to reseat the black cartridge. If that doesn't help, try to clean the cartridge nozzles. On the printer operator panel > press Setup button > Maintenance > Clean Cartridges > Ok. Your printer will then print a page, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean them. Try to print again. You may also try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty. If your new cartridge is faulty, return it to the purchase store (if within return period) or contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

My Lexmark prevail pro 705 has stopped printing anything colour even after i have replaced all the cartridges??

This article on How to Troubleshoot the Vizix Ink Technology will help fix print quality problems on your printer. To run the Deep Clean Printhead function on your printer -> on the printer operator panel, press Setup -> Maintenance -> select Deep Clean Printhead. Your printer will then print the test page. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Lexmark x1270 won't print in colour

There is nothing wroung with refilling but there is something wroung with the cartridge if it does not print. You might have ran out of refill cycles on that particular cartridge and not even know about the cycle requirments for lexmark printers. Your issue could be resolved by purchasing a new cartridge fixing the old one is not going to cut it.

My Lexmarkx1270 will not print any black text etc

Is it a new cartridge? If the cartridge has been sitting a while it can get clogged. Try using a moist paper towel and gently wiping the cartridge where the ink comes out.
You could also try running the Lexmark Solutions Center program and use the clean nozzles option to force it to squirt out some black ink.
