Open iMovie and set it to capture DV. (Click the camera shaped icon opposed to the siscor shape) When you see a blue screen that says (camera connected) and the image pops on screen of image from tape on camcorder set in play mode, you hit the import button and it begins to capture digital movie using DV compression of whatever you have on tape. You should be able to control your camcorder with the video controllers underneath the project window to make selections for the in and outpunts on the tape you wish to capture. Then switch to edit mode by clicking on the scissor button and import the movies you just captured or use them from the clips menu, etc. renedr movie back to tape, if you wish by clicking back and forth from edit mode (scissors) and capture mode (camera silo) and render to and from tape.

Hi, I have a JVC GR-D750AA digital video camera. I do not know how to download the things recorded to my PC. I have also bought the USB cable n tried but the camera USB port is not recogned by the PC. I do...

Turn the power switch on your camcorder to "Off." Connect the USB cable that came with the camcorder to the USB port on the camcorder. If you are using the DV cable, connect one end of the cable to the computer first. Put the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer. If you are using the DV cable, connect it to the camcorder. Power on your camcorder. Wait while your computer recognizes the attached JVC GR-D270U camcorder. Typically you will get a pop-up on your screen asking how you want to proceed once the camcorder has been recognized. Open your video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, Roxie, iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. Import, or capture, the video from the camcorder to your computer using the video editing software. For example, in iMovie you click on "File," then "Import from Camera" to download the movie from your camcorder to the computer.

I have a Canon FS20 camcorder. I have recently switched to a mac; however I need the transfer utility software to download the pics from the camera to the iMac. I already have image mixer for mac. Where...

Do you have iMovie? On mine, with any camcorder I've had, when I have iMovie running and plug the camcorder in it automatically changes to the Record mode. Click on the forward button and it will start the camcorder. Press the Record button when you get to the part you want to record. You can then edit the beginning or end of the section to use the portion(s) you want. The software controls the camcorder to go frontwards or backwards. Works very slick. Not sure what to suggest if you don't use iMovie.

However, selecting a good digital camcorder for Mac is not easy for green hand. Maybe more tips need paying attention, for example, the types of your camcorder and Mac, the version of iMovie on Mac, Mac and PC compability with digital camcorder and so on.

iMovie has been a Mac OS X only application bundled in the iLife suite of Macintosh applications since iMovie3. From 2007 to 2010, Apple developed iMovie to iMovie' 08, iMovie' 09, and iMovie for iPhone and iPod Touch. Imac and downloading video

Though I am not familiar with this camcorder, it probably creates an MPEG4 file. To get it into iMovie (depending on your version of iMovie) you may have to convert it to something that iMovie can understand. Try opening the file with a free program called MPEG Streamclip (www.squared5.com). If it is recognized, export it to either Quicktime or DV. IMovie should be able to open one of those.

Uploading video to Mac

You can't transfer videos through USB. You will need a Firewire 6-pin cord and use it to connect from your MAC to the Camcorder. Only then you can transfer videos.
