This is a normal optocoupler. Try to replace it by something like 4N35.
The part CQY80NG however has a footprint of 10 mm wide. The 4N35 has about 7,5 mm width. But this is feasble by bending the legs somewhat outwards.

I have a box full of LED Christmas lights that use the CF745-04/P, I had hoped to reprogram them but it appears I'm out of luck as I can't even find a datasheet.
A rumor I've found on PICList.com is that they are untested 16C54 meant to beat the clones to China.
Hi All,
The SGH2D diode is rated at 200 volts 2 amps so so a replacement must match or exceed these ratings, I used a BY299 at 800 volts 2 amps i know its a bit overkill with the voltage but its working,
Thanks, John Porter.

to open the tray during "please wait", remove casing then loosen front panel (clips either side and underneath). Power up to get "please wait", then press small microswitch in bottom right corner of the DVD player unit.
Have you tried resetting the unit (turning on and holding the power button for at least 5-10 seconds)?
Have you tried unplugging the unit for a longer period of time (24 hours)?
