How can you get a washer smelling good?

First of all this mainly happens when you use cold water washing, the plastic bowl(s) become slightly porous over time & the dirt from clothes adhere to the area between the inner & outer bowls.

To clean & remove smell.

1. Put washer on hot wash, high level & let it fill with HOT water.

2. Stop washer, put in an old towel.

3. Add a bucket of hot water (This allows the water level to be above the scum mark inside machine.

4. Add washing soda to the bowl (double the amount it says on the packet).

5. Start washer & allow to run to the end of the first wash cycle.

6. Stop washer & allow to sit for a few hours.

7. After the few hours, start washer & allow it to run the rest of the full cycle.

you can do the same procedure with Vinegar.

you may have to repeat procedure a few times.

TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN YOU NEED TO DO THIS PROCEDURE ONCE EVERY 3 MONTHS.

The worst case scenario, you will have get a technician to remove the inner bowl & manually clean these areas.

My Kenmore washer (series 90) stopped working in between the rinse and spin cycles. It will not drain (half full as we speak), agitate or spin. It will fill with water but once it reaches the proper water...

Something stuck in Pump. Pump on your model is driven by washer motor, so if Pump can't turn, motor can't work and will hum until it overheats and shuts down.

Product = model 15962 Problem = really bad smell

A good trick that i found was to fill tub with hot water and put a full cup of dishwasher detergent any kind but has to be powdered not liquid detergent. Do this two times in a row and then every month.

Washer won't do anything but fill.

It is very likely that the motor has burned out. What happens is that the water solenoid allows water to fill to a certain point where a fill sensor stops it. The program then moves on to activate the motor which will agitate the wash. So when power is supplied to the motor, it tries to start, overheats because of a break down of insulation in the windings, and you smell burning. Replace the motor.

Washer stopped working all together

Hi,Check your water solenoid valve, the part where you connect (2) hoses, could be burnt out, sometimes they do, especially if your water pressure home (building) is low, or could be your motor, remove back of machine and check water valve, check valve with ohm tester, or visual check can tell you, if burnt out, replace it, few things could burnt out, motor, capacitor, switches/relay etc, but first check water intake (solenoid) valve, also, check / reset, fuse/circuit breaker, probably went of, when burning smell occurs, ( happened) if it's not your water intake valve, let me know, we can check other possibilities. but i believe it's your valve, good luck.

Maytag Atlantis MAV6451AWW

turn off the water and remove the hoses from both the wall and from the back of the machine. check the screens inside of the machines water valve, they are probably clogged. do the same for the hose screens on the other end. replace the hose screens at the wall end and remove the screens from inside the machine. replace hoses and turn the water on and you should be good to go
