Since this happens after the set warms up, I would check for bad solder connections or capacitors on the convergence board. If the problem was not readily apparent, then I would consider replacing the board, as I believe the replacement board has been upgraded from the original.

I had same problem, or should I say I still have it, slowly getting worse, and I had replaced the Y board which would be logical based on description of what board controls, but it didn't help. I found out it is the plasma screen, and not worth replacing, so I put up with it until picture is all full of shadows, then will part it out. Last time I had issues with capacitors a few years ago, I spent $400. on several boards, including Y board trying to isolate problem, that is how I learned it didn't help the shadows creeping in after warming up. Live with it or buy a new TV is what I am doing.

Samsung LE40R7 colors got distorted (they have become electric similar to this example http://vickismithartist.com/images/paintings/azofadifferentcolor2009.png ). Next day they were back to normal, but...

Distorted picture issues are almost always caused by a bad tcon board, match the part number on the board not the model number if you order a new one

Picture Greatly distorted all of a sudden by many yellow lines

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.

I've been finding quite a few HDMI related problems over the past year and it seems to be increasing. The problem usually is due to the cable being somewhat heavy. The plug sticks straight in and hangs. The weight of the cable uses the downward momentum and starts ripping the solder connections from the televisions HDMI input. When the audio becomes distorted, try moving the cable and see if it clears up. If it does, then, that's the problem. If not, then the problem is more than likely the audio circuit. Either way the Main PCB needs to be replaced. After replacing the Main board, I suggest using component inputs instead (Same quality picture, just more cords), because, the chances of another problem caused by HDMI is likely. Hope this helps.
