Audio problem with sony sxrd 60" hi def

I have had this set for about 6 weeks. Picture is very good, especially HiDef. However, occasionally - three times in six weeks - there is a one-half-to-one second cutout of the audio. This can occur during a network broadcast, a commercial, etc. However, if I record the portions where the cutout occur 'live' they do not occur when I play the recording. This confuses me. The live audio is disrupted, yet the recording of the live show is not. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks.

I am having the same problem, but mine occurs about every 3 minutes. i get a 1 second pause in the audio that shows up in the recordings as well as live. it doesnt seem to matter if it is hd or not, but very frustrating.

Is the harmon kardon avr 225 receiver hi def? we had a "non" hi def tv hooked to our receiver and we are replacing the tv with a hi def LED. do we need a new receiver?

It does not have any of the usual HDMI or component video jacks on the back. The highest 'def' video it supports is S-Video (standard def).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video

It is NOT necessary to route video through an audio device. Your TV is the ultimate and most logical first recipient of any high def video content.

Whatever video you elect to pass through this thing is not modified in a good way if at all. You COULD just run the HiDef video straight to the TV and not have to worry about what could be happening in the excessive and unnecessary cabling that takes it for a trip through the receiver.

The receiver can still be managed by running its composite (standard def) video from the Monitor Out to a composite input of your new TV.

Likewise, no digital audio would improve from passing it through any device that just acts as a stepping stone to the receiver and ultimately your ears. That iswhy all decent A/V gear has provisions to run the signals separately to their optimum electronic end-user.

Hi, we have a ps3 we play Black Ops on. Its connected to a Sony Trinitron tv w/composite cables. Lately, the picture has been very hazy and dark, no bright colors like it used to be. Its hard to see where...

green sounds like a TV problem if persists with other games could be TV but im kinda thinking it is ingame settings occasionally updates can reset picture settings in the game i think for black ops it had some kind of adjust brightness until you can't see this object in background and sometimes it helps to go back and check that only other explanation would be you went to different resolution ex: 480, 720(hi def), 1080(highest high def)

The lamp may be starting to go, the symptoms you describe are classic warning signs. You could unplug tv let it cool down and check lamp most likely the glass will not look clear maybe a little milky or smoky in areas..dead give away.
