SOURCE: panasonic dvd home theatre system,

Try restoring your unit to factory shipping conditions:
Press stop button on the main unit and (>10/ENTER) on the remote control at the same time for about 3 secconds, you would see the message "Initialized" on your tv screen, Once the message disappears from the tv, let go of the buttons. Try this and let me know.

Try cold start.

Power off main set manually by press power button on main set.
Unplug power cord from main set.
Wait for about 5 sec.

[Without plug in power cord] Press and hold "Power" button without release it.

Plug in power cord (must have power) to main set by using another hand [while another hand still press on main set power button]

Keep holding until u see ------ on main set FL display.
Then release you hand which just now pressed on main set.

Power on main set again by manual press power button on main set.

The SC-HT500 is only for use in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and a few other places - you will need at least a transformer if you want to try to use it in the US. The manual can be found here:
