Hello, usually that is a sign of liquid refrigerant entering the compressor. Before condemimg the compressor I would have them check the refrigersnt charge to make sure the unit is not overcharged and check that the airflow is good. If those are checked out to be good the unfortunatly a new compressor will be needed.

when the unit runs on a hot day 85 degrees it makes a rattle noise like something is loose a tech says its a bad bearing and not a valve and the whole unit has to be replaced when it runs it will do it for 3 or 4 seconds and not make it again for 3 or 4 min
yesterday a tech came out to our house to look at our unit he ran it for 45 minutes, and i could not here any noise that i herd when it was 90 degrees, it was only 70 degrees and he said only a trained tech could hear a bad bearing and it would last maybe a day or all summer and i will see you shortly then he went downstairs to our basement looked at our furnace and said we have a bad heat exchanger that carrier furnace has a history of rusting out and letting out carbon monoxide, and the furnace was under warranty a 1999 model and he would order replacement parts and i would only have to pay for labor what do you guys think i looked them up on the internet they are not approved by the bbb
