Pv-dv53 not working? power light flashes

Anyone have a solution for this? My camcorder has a newly charged battery on it, but when i turn it on to camera, the power light flashes and it does not respond when i press the manu button or the red record button. Is it fixable? Or do I have to get another one?

I've been having this some problem as well. Actually, I had the problem a year ago, spent almost sticker price to get the thing fixed, it worked for a while but I didn't use my camera much, and now the problem has returned.

Double Red Flashing Light

I just posted another solution on the main link. Basically hook up the unit to the ac adapter, reset the menu to get rid of the blinking red light, and then put a new tape in on camera mode. The unit was able to record again and also work in camera mode.

Camcorder is not recording

the capstan motor of the camera is not running that why the power display is blinking and when you eject the tape there a portion of the ribbon that left..it is a poor connection of the capstan motor to the main board of the camera....

Power save function

Hi,
Do you put a tape in when you try to record or do you connect to a DVD / VCR so that it records onto the DVD or VHS?
If this is how you do it, then I will recommend you use a mini DV tape instead.
Hope this helps.

Camera just won't work!!!

Are there any error codes on the screen? It sounds like your unit has a moisture problem or needs reset. Do the reset first. Remove the battery for about 30 minutes, reinstall and see what happens. If this doesn't solve the problem leave the unit in a dry area with the cassette door open for a day and then try it. If it still will not work you could have a bad moisture sensor (or most any problem) which will need replaced. If you are not capable of electronic repair you will need to find a reputable repair shop. Here a some websites which offer free estimates and may be helpful: http://www.videotech.com or http://www.camcorderrepair.com or http://www.videoonerepair.com Good luck.
