I was watching a show on TV and it just shut itself off. I tried all the buttons on the remote and on the TV itself but nothing worked... Is my TV dead or is their something I can do to fix it?

Re: The TV just Shut off
Yes we called it dead set. but this can still be fix. this symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorized and/or ic), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (hor. oscillator, pre-drive, or drive circuits). supply voltages for the tuner, video if,sound if, and vertical output are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit. but if you doesnt know anything about these stuffs, better bring it to a qualified service tecnhician

Hi the power supply might have shut down through overheating turn the power of at the wall socket & wait for a short time before trying again the TV might reset itself if this doesn't work its probably shut down from a faulty component. good luck
This TV has reached the end of its (short) life. Needs to be replaced.
You can try looking at what kind of TV it is, what model, and look at the manufacturer's web site, check for the manual, look up what it means when the green light flashes. Might be a code that means something but I think the TV is dead.
For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
Thanks,
Dan
The set is going into shutdown, there are a few reasons why the circuit is being activated, excessive high voltage, excessive volts supply(poor regulation)no screen voltage or a secondary supply is missing,if you are familiar with tv service you have a few places to check, you will need a volt meter and a soldering iron and the squematic diagram to locate the different circuits mentioned,if you are not too familiar seek the assistance of a servicer.Let Us know if you need more information.
