#1 Customer has using remonte control which is not same and made for the Model we replaced laser #2 we open the same unit the one we have replaced laser, put 2-3 small drops of lubricant oil on tracking mechanism (shaft) so when you forward DVD movie in frames tracking DC motor was driving that lasser more smoothly, and made the big difference. It's very critical how much resistance DC motor have while reading disc. Customer was happy -We had rersolve this without any JVC tech support. Those liitle tips nobody has -You should make a notes yourself Zack-Tech

When loading time occurs it does not read the cd

They say these things are sent to try us and a dvd that will npt play a disc certainly dose that, but if we can understand the nature of the beast we can get the better of it. The first thing after loading is for the dvd to recognise the disc and it dose this by first finding focus. It dose this several times before giving up. If it finds focus it will then rotate the disc and read the TOC (table of contents). It would seem that your dvd cannot find focus. Most likley cause is a dirty laser lens. Cleaning the lens with a cotton bud will in
most cases effect a cure. If not a low emission laser may be the culprit. When cleaning the optic lens take extreem care the lens mountings are easily damaged. If lens cleaning dose not solve your problems it would be wise to seek advice from your local service technician.

''Bad disc'' error when any disc loaded in JVC XV-N670B DVD Player

There may be a connection to the problem, but it sounds like the laser assembly may need to be replaced as well as/or the mpeg printed circuit board(the printed circuit board) attatched to the laser assy. Good Luck.

Jvc dvd player no disc error

Hello!

I did have a similar problem. It was solved by cleaning the laser lenses/prisma. You have to dismantle the whole pick-up the to see the laser lenses.

There is one lens which is held by couple wires and below there is prisma/mirror.

I did use ear-cleaner-stick and desinfection liquid (with alcohol) for cleaning. Now it works!

XV-N40BK/XV-N44SL (NO DISK INSERTED)

Hey WeiesBlitz,

There may be a number of reasons why you may be encountering this problem, but there are a couple of quick solutions that may always try before seeking repairs on the player.

First, I would suggest making sure that the DVD's being used have been cleaned and are dust-free. Imperfections or impurities of any kind on the surface of a CD or DVD may prevent the laser in your player from being able to read, or even recognize the media inserted. You should be able to clean the DVD by using a soft and dry, lint-free (typically microfiber) cloth. Remember to try using gentle, outward strokes that run from the inner ring of the disc directly to the outer edge.

Second, you can always try cleaning the lens of the player itself using a commercial cleaning kit. Many retailers (including your local Best Buy™ store) may sell kits that clean lenses when inserted into your player like a normal DVD. Please keep in mind that not all DVD players are designed to function with these cleaning kits, and that you should always refer to your owner's manual for any possible warnings against the use of such products.

Should these suggestions fail resolve the problem, you may wish to try using other DVD's from your film library in the player. If other discs function normally, the non-functioning disc may be damaged. If using other discs results in the same error message, the player may be in need of physical repairs.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
