Added XM to home system. Reciever through amplifier to house speakers. FM works well and I think XM signal is received because when ''display'' pressed it gives title and artist but no sound through speakers, EXCEPT the bass. Maybe some switch on back of Niles si1260 need to be changed???
Thanks much,
Tom
SOURCE: xm stopped working display says "antenna"
Broken antenna cable. Likely you have a kink or worn thru point on the wire somewhere.
SOURCE: I get no sound but the 3 bars come up showing
You Need A New Wireing Harness For The Cd Player, Most likey You Let To Seperate Speaker Wires Touch And That Fryed The Wires A New Harness Should Fix The Problem
SOURCE: Need to crank the volume to hear XM Radio
This sound level problem is caused by oxidation forming in the electric connectors of the XM radio. I have tried several deoxidizers. Only one works really great. It is called, Caig DeoxIT. Here is a link to a good place to buy Caig and in the proper size too! [link].
Spray Caig DeoxIT into and over the connector and allow the deoxidizer to work for a few minutes.
Good luck,
George
SOURCE: New Xm, went through the steps in manual; no sound in car
The stations you set it to have to be complete static for the xm to come in. Your best bet if you head unit has an aux input is to buy an aux cable(few dollars) and hardwire it. it will give you the best quality for sound for xm.
Hey Yoo,
Go to Radio shack and get you an adapter that will take an earphone jack and convert it to RCA male. You use this to simulate the signal coming from the reciever. Hook up to a Cd player or Walkman, anything with an earphone output jack. Test that the device actually puts out music or anything worth listening to. Connect the device to the input of your amp, with the car running, and the reciever turned on.. This will tell yo if the signal is getting from the reciever to the amp. You may not be getting signal from the head unit.
If you still get no sound to the woofers, dsisconnect the woofers and try a different speaker. If that speaker dont work, Change setting and switches., and if you still get no sound, then your amp is toast.
