Power turns off after a couple seconds

I have a Mitsubishi rear projection TV 45" and when I turn it on there is a click sound then a whining sound then it shuts off. There is no sound and no pic. It was working great and I have never had a prob. with it before this. it is about 8 years old. I checked the boards and did not see any burn marks or any other signs of anything wrong. It has 3 fuses and the one furthest from the power suply surges. the power to it goes on and off really fast about twice a second. The fuse is by a horizonal circuit board to the rear right of the tv.

Did you ever get this tv fixed? It sounds like the Power board needs to be replaced. I have a similar problem and I was wondering if you got your tv fixed?

I figured it out! For me there are two sets of very small cables about 2 inches long which are connecting the PCB-Power Board and the PCB-Main board under the center of the color guns. These are like ide cables. They get knocked loose and start to come off due to the faulty design of the connector. Unplug the tv first, then simply open the back of the case look for the breaks in the boards you should see clearly 3 main boards, one near the inputs(PCB-Signal), one in the middle (PCB-Main), and one one the right side looking from the back (PCB-Power). In between the PCB-Power and PCB-Main you will see these little ide cables and connectors make sure that they are firmly pressed down. For me that was it! case solved! I hope that you were as fortunate! PS let me know if this helps you!

I do not have an answer butthis is happening to me now and read where it happened to another Mitsu.TV owner. they should be made to fix it because this looks like an equal to an auto recall.

It just click ON and OFF, right? If you hear the hight voltage noise tring start, may be the Tv has bad vartical IC or regulator IC. If you have no experience with electronic you will need a technician to halp you.
