After recording with no problem it will not playback or record at all. The code E007 is present on the screen and on the recording function there is < MF > in the left hand bottom of screen.
Also, where might I find a manual for this?
I have a sharp viewcam Z about 3 years old, everthing works but it wont play back recorded info or send to PC. Any ideas for a fix?

HI there remove the mini tape and start recording. It will automatically save in memory card. If not then your camera does not have option to save video in Sd Card. Thanks.
Clean up your head with the mini Dv head cleaner cassette. If still problem persists, give it to company personnal for repairing this problem, because this is the problem for the head. The head is the costly part in camcorder. So please give it to authorized person other than the local technician.
Try first a Tape cleaner and a new cassette and start from scratch... and check if your camera is not damaged internally and it is actually recording and not just spining the tape to the end and rewind to find nothing on it. You seem to need serious repair. This means it needs a tech to have a serious look at it.
a cleaning cassette ( the red ' x ' ) will help :
if cleaning works ? retire your old tapes , or
your heads may need replacement - sooner rather
than later ;
