I was scanning a slideshow onto my computer when all of a sudden, during one of the scans, my scanner shut down and stopped working. Prior to the scanner shutting down, I heard a pop coming from the rear of the machine. Now my scanner will not even turn on. If anyone knows what occurred and how I can go about fixing it, please let me know.
Coudl have been a fuse, a bulb, but most likely you would know if it was the bulb, and it was probably a capacitor overloading and exploding, its repairable if you can locate, de-solder, and replace the blown capacitor, your best bet is probably going to be to purchase a new scanner, unless it was just a short in the power cord in wich case the power cord may be the only thing effected but that almost never happens, I'd put my money on a blow cap but then again i could be wrong
