I have a Kenmore Super Capacity (no model number - says 2-speed, heavy duty). It gets stuck on rinse in both cycles: water keeps pouring in and draining, will not fill and continue on to spin. It used to be that we could use delicate without this problem, but now this sticks as well. Turning the machine off for a little while usually fixes the problem.

Re: Kenmore Super Capacity stuck on rinse
Krom, sounds like the machine is syphoning. Check the drain hose and make sure there is a air gap and that it is not too far down the standpipe or drain. To test it hold the drain hose right at the drain top and see if the problem stops...Catriver...post back.

It sounds like your heating element has broken. There are several links provided on this site on how to replace it. You might want to take a look at davesrepair.com to purchase a new one. He has pretty good prices on the element.
this is the site to find out how to fix your washer. you have a broken drive coupling. it probably wont agitate or spin, but will fill and drain. you need to remove 2 screws from the control panel, hinge it back and then remove the 2 brass colored clips that hold the cabinet to the base. once you do then pull the entire cabinet forwards to a 45 degree angle and pull it off the base. then pull the 2 clips off pump and then 2 more on the motor. that will allow you to get to the drive coupling. you will find it to be broken. replace it with part number 285753a for about 15-20 bucks.
