Re:
Many bosch dryers are actually white knight. if there is a red reset stat on the back lhs then it is white knight!
there is another stat close to the heater but out of sight when you take top off but you can see two grey wires going to it - make a note of where these wires connect, disconnect them and check continuity across them. there is also another stat towards the front. take of the back panel at bottom and you can see this stat in the air duct. check this stat as well. after that you are just left with the heater - check continuity across heater

"Most of the times when the F:09 Error code apears on a Bosh Dryer is due to the thermal cut off being triggered, you can correct this issue by simply disconnecting the power to the unit and removing the back panel of the machine where you will find the button to be red. simply press it in and test the unit... if this doesn't resolve the issue, most likely your belt snapped off and would need to be replaced."
Sounds like the heating element. Most dryers have a fin element on the back of the unit. This warms the air as it is drawn past it. If the filter is clogged and not enough air gets to the heater they can burn out very quickly. Also, they can just burn out with age. There is most likely a non resetable overheat stat as well. You can test these with a multimeter (bell test, continuity check) easily. These parts will be easy to purchase and easy to replace with a little diy knowledge
Unplug the dryer first. Then remove the back cover on the dryer. You will find the red reset button underneath the dryer drum. If the button has been tripped, you will feel and hear it click when you press it in. I would suggest that you vacuum out any dust or lint that has collected inside the unit before replacing the cover.
Mine did this. Because the bottom left filter was blocked the overheat
cut out had tripped. This is inside the rear of the machine accessible
after removing the rear panel
you need to remove the centre metal plate, after powering off the dryer. The small red reset button is on one of the black plactic connects on my model (WTA4408)
