Question about Epson Stylus 680 InkJet Color Printer

1 Answer

Printer does not print

I have my my printer for over 7 years. It failed to print after installing new cartridges and I realised that the black one had expired though the expiry date had been concealed. I bought it another black cartridges, but the printer failed to print. I took it to the technician who serviced it but started giving a message "Out of paper". When you load the papers, it pulls them up until all are finished without printing anything on any of the papers. I thought that the cartridges purchased locally were fake and I sent for a pair from Hongkong, but it is sttill the same story. Please advise. Thanks.

HP 6940 won't print black-new cartridge installed-prints color but no black

In all likelihood your print head has become clogged at the black ink outlet. Be aware that printheads can BURN OUT if you keep trying to print and there's insufficient ink reaching the printhead. The ink flow is relied upon to prevent overheating of the tiny resistors at the printhead. Best bet is to remove the cartridges from the printhead and then remove the printhead and try to clean it in warm water. You will find many youtube videos on suggestions for cleaning the printheads on HP printers. Do a google search for your model. If all else fails you can order replacement printheads for the part that has failed. They are not cheap so price compare. Oftentimes they will cost nearly as much as a new printer!

Installed new black ink cartridge in HP PSC 2110 color printer, scanner, copier. Followed instructions to align cartridges. Printer printed paper that had additional instructions. Placed second printed...

hello, machine will need to finish calibration so it will not come back, so if machine failes it could be that the color cartridge is not printing, because this machine uses yellow to calibrate with.

Error code 1200 is showing?? help!!

The error 1200 indicates that the cartridge carrier is stuck inside the printer. Please follow the steps given below:
1. Unplug all cables from the back of the printer.
2. Open the front cover and look above the steel rod. You should see a black belt with rubber teeth on it. (On some models, the cartridge access is very small, but the belt should still be visible.)
3. Take the top part of the belt and move it gently to the right. The cartridges should come towards the center.
4. If the cartridges will not move, tilt the printer on its back and try moving the belt again.
5. If it still will not move, try putting your finger inside the area where the cartridges are stuck (with the printer still on its back), and push them firmly against the cartridge carrier holder while you move the belt with your other hand.
6. Once the cartridges are in the middle, snap them firmly into the cartridge carrier. Note: Make sure that these cartridges are the correct models for your printer. Once the cartridges are seated properly, they should not become loose inside the carrier.
7. Plug all the connections back in and power the printer up.
8. Open the front cover again to see if the cartridges slide to the center.
You should then try to self-test the printer. The self-test allows us to rule out software and the cable by testing the hardware by itself. Please note that this is not a "fix," but rather a diagnostic test to determine if your hardware is at fault.
Please begin by disconnecting the power supply from the wall (not the back of the printer) for at least "30 seconds." Then plug the printer back in and follow these steps:
Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:
1. Press the "Copy" button once.
2. Press the "Options" button 11 times until the screen reads "Maintenance."
3. Press the "Left Arrow(-)" button until the screen reads "Maintenance: Self Test."
4. Press "Select."
The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.
If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.
If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

Installed black ink but hp psc 750 keeps saying install colour and i only have black ink. Can you operate this printer without colour in.

Print cartridge
When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.
Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.
1. Open the top cover of the printer.
2. Remove the print cartridges.
3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.
5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
6. Close the top cover.
7. Try printing again.
If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

Print cartridge missing

Please remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Please snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Please turn OFF the printer.
2. Press and hold the "Color copy" button.
3. Now, turn ON the printer.
4. Once you see "0" on the display, release the "Color copy" button.
5. Press the Up arrow button until "2"appears on the display.
6. Press the "Black copy" button to start the self test. Once the page has printed, the printer will stop printing.

If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed by itself. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let me know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.

If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

New black installed; will not print in black ink. Everything else prints!

hi, it is possible that the black cart was not installed properly. Try reseating the black cart and see if it works. You can also try to calibrate the printer. you can do this by pressing the menu button then go down to calibrate printer. after that it would also help to perform a deep clean which can also be found on that same menu. then try to print. If all these fails, try to call the kodak hotline 800.421.6699
