you need to have all the phones linked to the same wiring. for example, i just got mine working after working on it for some time. i had 2 of my phones hooked directly into my FIOS box and the other 2 were hooked into a remote location of the building. even though my thinking says they should be able to talk to one another, they couldnt. they have to be completely wired to the same wiring system with no interuptions so they can find each other in the network. then to use the intercom system, all you have to do is press 1-16 on your speed dial to reach out to the desired location

If you don't feel comfortable taping abke to gether or its beyond repair you local radio shack can usually match up a universal a/c adapter if take them the old one

How do you set the alarm?
I couldn't find a manual for this model, but you might be able to get information from the manufacturer. This information is from the GE site here:

In 1987 GE sold its home electronics business to Thomson®, Inc. For a time, Thomson® produced many products that carried the GE name, but now only manufactures telephone and communications products.

GE Cordless 25952EE1 A Cordless wont register in base base flashing CL
After talking with Thomson Inc today your best bet is to get rid of the phone. I found out today this phone has a real problem as I see it. I can use my handset on other bases. So that means anyone with this model handset can access your line. Thomson agreed today that this is possible. All I got was a SORRY!
