Question about RCA 24F501TDV 24" TV

1 Answer

DVD Tray won't open.

Hello, actually I have two problems with my RCA 24F501TDV; The first problem was with foldover which I see can be easily repaired. Not a problem. The second problem, is the DVD player, the tray will not open with the remote or manually. The TV with intermittently try to open it no matter what I do, so it seems to think the tray needs to be open/closed at all times. Maybe I am wrong on that theory... The tray motor does work, but that tray wont move, and the DVD inside it wont play.

DVD/CD disc opener won't workGetting

Usually the tray has to be opened and inspected and if lucky it can be realigned--if not parts may be hard to find as they usually do not sell individual parts for the mechanism.

CAN'T EJECT, IS BLOCKED

I had the same "Blocked" problem and solved it - by using a rubber band! Unplug the machine and take off the outer cover. Remove the DVD reader and take off the cover to the reader - you can now easily recover the DVD that was stuck in the machine. Now slide out the actual DVD tray, you will have to bend back a couple of restraining bars to get the tray out completely. You should now see a small white wheel which is actually the end of a concealed electric motor. There will also be a larger black pulley which controls the movement of the DVD tray. If there is no band connecting the pulley and the white wheel, that is your problem and I solved it with a small elastic band. Put everything back and turn on, wait for all the messages to clear and press the eject button - the tray opens simples. It has taught me never to force the tray in manually, but to always use the eject/open button.

Dvd tray will not open or play

Hello,

The reason your player keeps reading a disc and do not play is because the the disc tray is not sitting the disc properly on the lens.

The disc tray is faulty, the mechanism that controls the opening and closing of the tray is damaged and needs repair.

To fix this, you have to get the appropriate screwdriver, open the cover of the player.

You will see a mechanism by the opening of the tray that controls the disc tray.

Get a replacement mechanism and change it. Mostly the rubber slacks and does not control the tray properly.

Changing the mechanism will solve the problem.

Take care
