When activating the clean mode the system goes through its cleaning cycle but is not drawing the cleaning solution (oil) up into the chamber housing the razor head. Consequently, the shaver remains uncleaned. (This unit has worked fine for about 5 months previously. The cleaning fluid has routinely been changed monthly. However, during the most recent replenishing of the cleaning fluid, the old fluid came out an unusual brown, almost rusty, color).
I have had the same problems as others have posted. upon inspection I have found that Remington in the assembly process use wiring for the cleaning unit, that is exposed to the cleaning solution. If you remove the base head for refilling, you will notice on the motor head, some fine wires running along the sides. If these break, become damaged, or corrodided, problems will occure. Depending on the break of which wire, will reflect on the charging of the unit, or the cleaning motor. The rust color is a result of the solution used having corrosive action on the wiring.
I had this problem with my Razor also. I took the cleaner apart and found the shaft from the motor to the impeller snapped. I have been unable to find any replacement parts anywhere. I guess it is cheaper for them to replace the whole unit each time than provide a new motor. Thats too bad as I liked the way it cleaned and blew the razor dry. So I bought a Norelco.
I have had the same problem.I sent an e-mail to Remington and they sent me a whole new unit including the shaver and accesories.Problem is the replacemant is doing the same thing again as the first unit.I got it for x-mas and am getting ready to contact remington for a 3rd unit,it is only June. What I am doing now is changing the fluid and filter and tip the unit forward to bring fluid in to the head cleaning chamber. It's half ass way to have to something, but Remington does have a problem with this and needs to recall or replace with an upgrade when available

I have had the same problem with 3 units. They seem to last for about 5-7 months before the, what I think is the, pump stops working which pumps cleaning fluid from the base and into the head in order to clean it. When the first one broke I contacted customer service and they sent me a new replacement. After the 2nd one broke I again contacted customer service and they sent me another. When the 2nd one stopped working, the fluid pump, I contacted customer service and they never got back to me. I'll try again soon and see if I can get a response. I agree that this is certainly a Remington defect and they should recall all of these units and provide replacements that have been fixed properly.
I have had shaver for about 6 months and I am also experiencing the same problem. I am waiting for remington to get back to me for warranty replacement.
