Started turning itself off then back on then off and now it's off and has been for about 6 minutes and all of a sudden it will turn itself back on. RCA was suppose to be a good tv. My old one, thank goodness which I still have after 20 + yrs works fine just old. I guess with so many having the same problem, maybe RCA isn't so good anymore and we should be looking at the newer HDTV's and not the RCA's. I tried to unplug mine for awhile then plug it back in that worked for awhile now it won't come at all. Hope this helps abit, although i'm sure your like me and have tried it all,8)

sir it may happen if the auto off option is enabled and the timer is enabled........... check for this options if they r and enabled then disable that........... or give your tv to the service shop and check for any problems
Using the menu/options button, check whether there is a sleep timer. You may have accidentally set it, and it will shut off the tv at either a particular time, or after a period of time has elapsed.
contact switches on front panel board are dirty or bad try cleaning switches with contact cleaner first thy are the ones that turn tv off/on vol- vol+ ch- ch+

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. MAY BE INTERMITTENT, SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB.

7 times blinks shows that Horizontal Deflection Circuit doesn't work properly.
I think, its not big fault and can be resolve in low cost at nearest Sony repair shop.
