HP 3050 When I'm recieving faxes if there is more than one page it will print 1 and 5 of 7 or 2 and 4 of5 and says communication error

The outgoing faxes are intermittently illegible and another fax machine on the same line does not have the same problem. Incoming faxes are fine.

When I use the copy feature, I am getting a solid line printing vertically on the copy. Any ideas

The issue with the solid line is that you have some dirt/tipex on the glass scan plate, if you lift the front up you will see the dirt on the glass plate, clean it & your issue will be resolved.

- cables properly connected
- analog or digital (DSL, VoIP, etc) phone line
- dedicated line?
- under fax setup, all faxes, turn error correction off
- under fax setup, all faxes, turn v.34 off
- test fax

Comm error 232

This is the common cause and solution: A communication failure has occurred between the two machines. On the other hand, the user at the remote machine may have pressed the Stop button. Alternatively: the power at the remote machine has been interrupted, or deliberately turned off causing the fax session to be interrupted.

Solution:

1. Re-attempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved.

2. If the error persists, and error correction is in use for the fax session, disable ECM . (See Error 222)

Try this...
a) changing the Error Correction Mode (ECM) to OFF
b) disabeling V.34 option

steps for
a) Fax setup -- All faxes -- Error correction -- OFF
b) Fax setup -- All faxes -- V.34 -- disable

The scanner in your FAX is nothing working -- i.e., "100%-black" or "100%-white", and so what is transmitted is what the scanner has scanned, improperly.

Hp laserjet 3050 fax report

The error 244 results from a fax machine communicating and trying to 'Poll" your fax. (receive information you have loaded into the fax memory for all to receive) The error comes in when your fax has no information or is not set up to be polled.

Look in your menu for the "ECM" setting on the printer menu. If this error is getting persistent change the ECM setting to the opposite of what it is set now. More than likely your fax will say ECM=On, change to off.

If you have problems locating where the ECM section is, print a "settings report" or "printer menu".

Low memory display on HP Laser Jet 3050

Hello All,

Please perform the following:
Super NVRAM init
When a super NVRAM init is performed, the all-in-one language and telecom country/region settings
are undefined. The user is prompted to set the language and telecom country/region. Until these settings
are defined, the all-in-one will not return to the Ready state.
CAUTION A Super NVRAM init erases all data that is stored in both the unprotected and
protected NVRAM memory.
To perform a super NVRAM init
1. Turn off the all-in-one.
2. Press and hold down the * and 5 buttons.
3. Continue to hold down the buttons while you turn on the all-in-one. Hold the buttons throughout
the entire power-on sequence.
4. When Permanent Storage Init. appears on the control-panel display, release the buttons.
5. When prompted, set the language and telecom country/region.
6. Allow the all-in-one to return to Ready before using it.
