Try setting it up in windows movie maker first and making a short movie to check it out or Windows live as they have to be set up in whatever programme you use. if they work with your cam it must be a problem with skype.

I Have a creative web cam Pro which was working for qiet some time and suddenly stopped working on skype

Recheck your settings
Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

working OK ?

CONFIGURE TO SKYPE
Connect webcam
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start (To reboot the webcam software) - if you have been using it elsewhere the SKYPE software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Start Skype.
On the 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'.
In the navigation pane of the Skype 'Options' window, click 'Audio Settings'
Run down the list setting your defaults
Select your webcam as the default microphone.
Make a free test call
Click 'Save'
In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings.
This will launch your webcam
Adjust quality of picture in 'Settings'
Check the correct webcam is shown as default
Click Save
Test your webcam by making a Skype test call.

Computer says the webcam is working properly but video is not showing up. Do we need to download a driver in order to get the webcam to work with Skype?

HI,

If you have already installed the webcam drivers/softwares from the disc provided to you then you need not install any drivers.

You can try funisntalling the skype software first and then reinstalling it again. This should fix the issue.

Let me know the result.

Thank You for using fixya.

My webcam doesnt work with skype

Check you have the latest driver - faults likes this are usually patched until a new driver is issued
Access Device Manager from the Control Panel and expand the Imaging folder.
Right click on your webcam text and update driver - select internet when prompted.
If you have the latest driver - check the Creative website and Skype for any forums that show similar problems
