Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
I just found out that the drain line from my clothes washer to the main line is blocked with rocks. This is only a 3yr old house and I've had a plumber out to first attempt to snake the line and then did the scoping camerea. With the camera it was clear as day that I had small rocks blocking the line (2" line). They look like the same rocks that are put down for the bedding of a driveway. I have no idea how they got there but obviously it was some mistake during builing. Now I'm facing the decision of ripping up my basement and removing the blockage. I plan to move in a year and would rather not go through that expense and trouble. I can do a wash because the water does seep through the rocks but on high loads backs up into the wash room. Does anyone have idea on what I can do to control the flow of water out of the washer into the drain. I'd even consider buying a new washing that has that feature. Or replacing the existing washer drain pipe with something that had a flow control. Any ideas?
Where is your washer located? If it is located in an outer area (Garage, outdoor porch) you can probably get away with just draining the water into your yard. Its not the most legal or pretty way of dealing with it, but that's my suggestions. I've actually had a plumber make this same suggestion to me when I was having problems with blocked drain pipes at my house.
