All of a sudden the child lock was on on my dishwasher. I read the manual and got it turned off. Now, I can press one of the cycle buttons; i.e. "soak and scrub" but cannot press a second one; i.e. "super scrub" -- and the start button will not depress or start the dishwasher.
I can press "cancel" and it will cycle through the draining fine -- but, then I cannot set the cycle or start the dishwasher.
I do not know whether the child lock being on has anything to do with this problem.

Re: Setting cycles and turning dishwasher on
Most likely the problem with your dish washer is shorted one or more pads on the key panel. To fix it the key panel has to be replaced. If you'll provide the complete model number and color for the control panel for your dish washer, I can help you to find the best deal on this part.

Hi Gayle, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
When the Child Lock light is on, the control is locked and
no cycles can be selected or started. To de-select the Control Lock, press and
hold the heat dry key or press down on the lock icon for approximately twenty
issue persists, try resetting the dishwasher by either unplugging it or
flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait
approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit on. Select a cycle and your
dishwasher should resume normal operations. I ask that you please follow

Well you can please follow the below steps - 1. Locate the "Energy Saver/Dry" button on the dishwasher. The location of this button will be different depending upon the specific model number of the dishwasher, but should be easy to spot. If you have trouble finding it, you can check the diagram in the manual of your dishwasher for the exact location for your specific model. 2. Press and hold down this "Energy Saver/Dry" button for at least four seconds. Make sure that you do not release the button until at least 4 seconds have passed, otherwise the lock will not become disabled. 3. Check to make sure that the child lock indicator light has turned off. If this light is no longer on, this means you were successful at turning off the child lock. If the light is still on, repeat the process, but try to press and hold the "Energy Saver/Dry" button for a few seconds longer. If it still doesn't work, there may be a more complicated issue with your dishwasher. Consult your manual, or call to the manufacturer or repair man to determine if there is another problem with your dishwasher.
It would have helped if you provide the Dishwasher model.
HOwever, I am assuming you have the power connected and inlet water is turned on.
It is likely the child control button might be enabled. CHeck dishwasher manual to show how to disable child lock.
If this is not the problem, then assuming your dishwasher has this feature, try to hard reset the dishwasher to factory setting. This is usually done by pressing 2 buttons (depending on dishwasher) together for a specific time. Or in some cases the mains power is turned off and on within a specific time.

To prevent children from accidently changing the dishwasher cycle or starting the dishwasher, lock the dishwasher controls by pressing and releasing the DELAY TIME icon for 3 seconds. An indicator light on the lock graphic touchpad will illuminate when the controls are locked and no new selections
can be made until the lock is released. To unlock
