How to Repair XBox 360 The guide provided below here are of two approaches. The first is to call Microsoft office for help, (which takes up more time and more bill on telephone) and the second option which the most widely used and recommended is download the fix guide video series, watch the videos and fix the errors on your desk. This saves time, energy, and above all saves money very well. The VIDEO DOWNLOAD ACCESS PORT IS HERE>>> The "Red Rings of Death" or RROD is a term familiar to all Xbox 360 owners. This malfunction occurs when there is a total system failure and three segments of the Xbox 360 "ring of light" flash red. Because the problem is due to the total failure of internal elements, you have to send your Xbox to Microsoft for it to be refurbished or replaced. video series guide here>>
Step 1
Call
Microsoft support. Explain to them that you have experienced a system
failure, indicated by three blinking red lights. The person on the
phone will ask you to check your power source. The representative will
then ask whether your Xbox 360 is still under warranty to determine
whether you can send it in for free repairing.
Step 2
Give
the person on the phone your home address and request that they send
you a prepaid empty box for your Xbox 360. Note, they will not
automatically do this, and you will need to ask for it (otherwise they
will send you just a prepaid packing slip).
Step 3
Wait
for the box to arrive; depending on your location, it will take 7 to 14
days. When you receive it, follow the included instructions to pack
your Xbox 360 and then take it to a shipping center for processing.
Step 4 (watch a video guide here>>>)
Check
your repair status online. When you ordered your Xbox 360 repair, you
should have been given a repair order number. Simply go to the
Microsoft support site to check the status.
Step 5
You
should receive a call the day before your new Xbox 360 arrives. The
unit will likely be new or refurbished and may not have the same serial
number as your old model.
The serial number isn't on the box unfortunately... but it should be on your sales receipt. That rectangle hole that is cut in your xbox's box is the way to see the xbox system's serial number through the box but they don't print it on the box itself. When you buy an XBox 360, the salesperson scans the barcode from the back of the XBox which contains the serial number.
Please go to xbox 360 website and find the toll free number to call them direct.Do not pay for anything on the internet that will get you up and running in an hour.Microsoft should send you an empty box(they pay for shipping)for you to package your xbox 360 in,they repair or update and ship it back at ALL there cost. Al
sorry but no there is no serial number on the box, but you can call microsoft and they'll help you find the serial number just give them some information
well when you go to the site, it will ask you to put in information about yourself and your xbox like serial number and stuff. Based on that serial number the website will tell you if your xbox is under warreny. If it is they will mail you a box for free with a free return label for them. It will not cost you anything to mail it. If its defective they will fix it or send a new one. MY 360 elite died on me and i did all that and it was about a month and they sent me a brand new one because they couldnt fix my old one and they gave me a free month of xbox live.
Step1
Go through several different runs to make sure that your Xbox 360 is
really broken. For example, if you’re getting an error message when you
put in a disc, try a different one. The problem can sometimes be the
game you’re playing and not the console.
Step2Look here for the Xbox 360 serial number.
Gather your serial number. Before calling Microsoft, make sure that you
write down the serial number of your console. This is found on the back
of the system.
Step3
Contact Microsoft. Although you can contact Microsoft through email,
they will only take care of repairing an Xbox 360 over the phone. Call
(800) 4MY-XBOX and describe the problem to the technician.
Step4
Receive shipping box from Microsoft. After you talk to a Microsoft
customer service representative, they will ship a box to you. This box
is used when you send your system back to them for repair. They provide
postage and tape for sealing the box so that you don’t have to pay for
anything.
Step5
Prepare Xbox 360 for shipment. With the shipment box, you’ll also get
instructions for sending your system. The most important thing to do is
remove any accessories. Be sure to keep hard drives, games,
cords,controllers, and personalized faceplates.
Step6
Ship Xbox 360. Once you have your console boxed up, you’ll need to
bring it to UPS. Although Microsoft pays for the shipping of your
defective Xbox 360, you still need to get it to the shipping company.
Luckily, it’s relatively easy to find UPS stores in most cities.
Step7
Watch the status of your shipment on the service website that Microsoft
provides. Log on to http://service.xbox.com to see how the repair
process is going. You should typically receive your fixed Xbox 360 in a
few weeks. The whole process should take about a month.
I think next time you should call Microsoft and know what you are trying to do.
Yes! you can contact Mircrosoft, the number can be found on the box that your 360 came in... call them and let them know that your Xbox no longer reads disks and they will send you a box in which you can send them your Xbox and they will repair it and send it back to you Free of Charge! It takes a few weeks to a month to get your 360 back, but it's worth the wait when it's working perfect again!
Just look on the box that your Xbox came in and call the customer service number... someone will answer with a thick accent and ask what they can do for you... tell them your Console doesn't power on and that you've tried everything over and over, they will send you a box and repair your console free of charge and ship it back to you in about 3 weeks time working perfectly!
