'05 trailblazer ext. radio has xm and navigation. I just bought this vehicle today, so I do not know how long the problem has existed, or what caused it to stop working properly. I have little if any reception. I live WAY out in the country. we only get a couple stations strong and clear regardless of the vehicle. But this radio gets NOTHING. The dealership where I bought it is located 10 miles from a radio station. When I test drove it, I could pick ONLY that station up, and it was really weak. After purchasing, I drove 10 miles from the dealership (away from the radio station) and I lost it completely. I can pick that same radio station up clearly here at home in my other vehicles, but cannot get it or any other station in the Trailblazer. Almost seems like there is no antenna.
maybe a dumb question.... is this something that should be taken to a GM dealer for a mechanic to look at, or am I further ahead going to a car audio shop? I have it in my head that working on a radio is not in a common job to a trained mechanic???? just a thought.

I believe it's "compatible" for XM. I believe you still need to buy the antenna and hardware the hooks up to the back. When it's plugged in it will allow you to use that function.
Try www.xmradio.com This is where you can get info on activating your XM radio. It will cost you about $13 a month and an activation fee. You will need the radio's ID number. If you already know this and dont have the owners manual, stop by a dealer to get it going.
Sure it will play only has to be hooked up properly. Wireless headphones can be bought from' http://www.infraredheadsets.net/chevrolet/2003-chevrolet-trailblazer-ext-replacement-dvd-player-headsets/
It is the blower motor resistor. I had the same problem on my 05 ext and now it just happened on my 06 ext. It is located behind the glove box, very easy to change.
