How do i change the parental controls on my play station 2

Try pressing Stop + Eject together - This works on some Sharp Multi TV's. lmk if this works!

Try these directions, they *should* work.

1. Insert a DVD Movie into the PlayStation®2.
2. You should receive a message informing you that the Parental Level has been set, and asking if you?"d like to allow the disc to play. Highlight "Yes" and then press the X button.
3. A new window will appear asking you to temporarily change the Parental Control to a different level. Again, highlight "Yes", and then press the X button.
4. Another window will appear asking you to enter your Password. Above that window are numbers (0-9).
5. Do not enter your password, but instead, press the select button on your Controller. This will change the text in the window from "Enter Password" to "Delete Password".
6. Using the numbers above the window, input 7444. If successful, you will receive a message stating "Deletion Complete".
7. Press Select. You will now be asked to register a new password. Please select a four-digit code of your choosing.
8. You will be asked to confirm your password selection by inputting the same code once again. If successful, you will receive a message stating "Registration Confirmed".
9. Now you need to turn off the password altogether. The movie should of started playing by now. Press select and chose Setup. Go to the parental control "tab" and set the level to "off".
10. Now you should be able to watch any movie

Go to parental controls in system settings. When it asks 'Change Parental Controls settings?' tap yes. When it brings up a numeric keypad, tap the center button, "I Forgot". Next, tap "I Forgot" again. Now you will be shown a screen with a number at the bottom (the 'inquiry number'). Go to http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.psp on your computer and enter this number in the field marked confirmation number. Set the current date in your timezone and click get reset code. And Voila! Your DSi is now parental control free!

To change this, you need to access the Digital Menu, Setup, Parental Lock and turn the lock for PG off. Or enter the 0000 code.

Step 1
Turn on your PS2 and choose the menu screen where you would normally enter the password. Instead of entering a password, go to the DVD setup menu. Go to "custom setup" and choose "parental controls".
Step 2
When you are asked for the code or password, press the select button on your controller and enter the number "7444". Now set the parental lock to "off".
Step 3
Press "reset" on the front of the game console to save your settings. When the system reboots, you should be able to view your previously censored games or DVDs. You will also have the opportunity to choose your own password, allowing you to turn the parental lock on and off, either manually or automatically by game or movie ratings.
I often recommend that the parents of older children should regularly reset the password in order to prevent "hacking". Also, try to choose a password that could not be guessed easily. Often, a combination of both letters and numbers works best, as the laws of statistics dictate that more choices equal more failed attempts at cracking the code. Unless your child is exceptionally persistent or lucky, boredom will win out before they guess the correct code.

This is the only way to turn "off" parental control lock on the custom setup screen.

1) turn off ps2 with no dvd in drive.
2) turn on ps2 and insert dvd in drive.
3) when it asks about parental password, choose 'yes'.
4) when prompted for password, press 'select'.
5) the prompt will change and say 'delete password'. enter '7444'.
6) enter a new password (0000 works).
7) registration complete, dvd will start playing.
8) once the movie starts, press 'select'.
9) click the 'stop' icon.
10) click the 'stop' icon again (the icon must be gray even when you have it highlighted).
11) navigate to 'custom setup' ('select', setup icon, custom setup icon)
12) move to parental control option, press right directional button, enter password (0000).
13) move down to 'level'.
14) move up to desired level (off is at the top).
15) click 'x'.
16) go back to 'select' menu options, and press 'play'.
17) while movie is playing, eject disk and remove dvd.
18) turn ps2 off using switch on the back, keep off for five seconds.
19) turn on ps2, put dvd back in.
20) happy dance. ;)

I have a GE 13TVR62 (with a problem listed here). I've learned that the Parental Lock Settings are changed by using the Remote Control. Usually the actual Settings are changed by pressing the Up or Down or Left or Right Arrows to make the Change; while the Parental Lock is Highlighted on the Menu.

Go into the parental control screen and enter the numbers:

this is the sony default override code. (don't forget to change it)
