Nextar S3 GPS repair center is needed

The Nextar S3 does not need or come with a map update. That's what it's best feature. It works with the Satellite everytime you turn it on. I've had one since 2008. It is very dependable and reliable. However, I dropped mine last summer and it hasn't worked right since. Now, when I plug it in it says, "the battery is low."
I am not aware if it operate by battery. Now that they are gone out of business it is difficult, if not impossible to get it clear information on the S3. So, I just gave up, and recently purchased a Magellan GPS.

I miss it already. I loved the fact that I did not hve to download anything, unless it was music or something that I wanted to download. With the Megallan, and most computers today. You have to charge them, and download updates...tsk tsk...tsk...such a waste of time. I rather plug it into my lighter and go....

Yes, you need the power cord that will go from a 12 volt socket in the car to the GPS receiver.
Best Buy, Radio Shack or possibly Walmart should have one.

You should first try the reset procedure to see if this resolves the sound problem for you. To do this press the "Reset" button or push the stylus into the "Reset" hole.

Unlock the SD card (just moving up a tab in the left side of your SD card). I hope it works.

THERE SHOULD BE A TOLL FREE NUMBER ON EITHER THE BOX OR IN THE USER MANUAL TO HELP TROUBLESHOOT. IF ITS NOT FIXABLE, THEN THE COMPANY SHOULD HONOR A 1 YEAR WARRANTY THAT COMES WITH THE UNIT. IF ITS BEEN OVER 1 YEAR, THEN SADLY ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER UNIT.
