SOURCE: We have blue lines or arches on the bottom and top

if you are handy with screw driver i suggest you remove all cd,dvd or anything you got on top of the unit and remove the back panel from this tv after you unplug the unit of course .first thing you want to do is clean your lenses most time dirt ,bugs, etc and other materials get logged on the lenses also make sure you dont spray directly any cleaning product on the lens make sure you spray a rag or some sort of cleaning towel.
after you finished doing this clean the front panel as well were screen is also clean the silver board thats in there as well.after you finish all of this replace all of the screws and boards back on and give it little while to dry off .turn it on see if u still have the lines if you do then your problem lies in the lenses they might be cracked.
if there not you might have bad electrode or power diode going bad.

SOURCE: convergence panasonic HDTV 1080i bbe hi definition

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

You can see some more examples and find a fix herebb0cf99.pnghttp://www.fixya.com/support/r2861467-solution_video_looking_whiteish_dull

Yellow hue in center edges are ok

These tvs have had optical block problems. How old is the TV? This may be under warranty.

Sony 60" LCD projection TV has yellow screen discoloration

It sounds like you have a bad Blue Polarizer in the light path. I'm sorry but that is something you will have to contact a service center for. It's not something you'll be able to do yourself, I'm sorry, but that's the best advice I can give you.

A blue semi-circular hue on the bottom left of the screen

9 times out of 10 the Blue Polarizer heats up and discolors which causes that problem, all projector's have the same issue and have for years. My professional recommendation is get in touch with Sony, they have been extending the warranty's for this issue. If they won't the have a servicer replace the light engine of which is not cheap.

No blue color, green replaced blue, white is yellow/green

Hello,

If the set is hooked up using Component cables (red, green, blue), then check to make sure the cables are hooked up correctly, and not defective (change them out). If the color problem remains, then the problem may be in the Optics block of the television (which is not unheard of in this unit).

If the menu of the TV displays blotchy discoloration, and the discoloring is the same for every input on the tv (stationary), then it is the Optics, and the optics need to be changed. It is not the easiest job in the world, and the block itself is quite expensive, although the unit my be under an extended warranty from Sony. Contact them directly to see if you can get any help (cost or service-wise). Hope this helps...

Which part(s) to replace?

If the screen looks OK after extended cooling is provided, you may just have a failed cooling fan.
Turning the blade with the power off will tell you if the bearings have failed or stuck, or just look at it with a flashlight to see if it is turning.
Check this first before you start replacing boards.

Sony 60" LCD projection TV has yellow screen discoloration

I would suggest to try to get this TV fix while still under warranty. Normally the manufacturers give one year.
In regards to the discoloration, there is not much you do but to let the Sony authorized repair center knows about it so they can fix it. Ask them if their work is guarantee as well for how long.
Good Luck.
