Whirlpool icemaker Icemaker not working: changed power head at icemaker and changed water sylenoid. Still no ice. How can i check the wiring and door sensors to make sure they are working? Seems like its stuck in its sequence waiting to charge water. (Water line is clear) Fridge is a whirlpool model GS6SHAXLQ0

    ice maker does not dispense water. all else works. checked all micro switches and all ok. checked water valve and is ok.

    i have a roper side by side model RS25AGXNQO1. Ice maker isn't working it gets water to the filter then back to the pump i guess but no water to where it goes into the icemaker at back of fridge.

I changed the filter and it stopped making ice. I finally discovered that the rubber fill spout had frozen somehow. I heated the tube with my wife's hair dryer and the top of the fridge just above the tube. A pencil sized chunk of ice fell out of the tube and it started making ice again.

Good troubleshooting, the motor module (power head I guess you call it) is a high failure item. If you can manually fire the solenoid and get water to the Ice Maker then that's OK. Another item can be the t-stat at the ice maker, it must be "closed" at 15-17 degrees F. or it won't send power to the motor module. There may be a schematic under the front of the fridge in a plastic holder stuck up underneath. Sometimes it's just tech notes but some show the basic wiring diagram.
