Question about Philips Nike PSA220 MP3 Player

Player wont function ... at all

The MP3 player does not turn on and does not respond to a soft reset (by pusing volume up and the next button). I tried to resore it to the factory defaults and it appeared that it was restored... except that it will not turn on at all still. I tried plugging it into the charger and it says Problem please connect to computer.

I have the same problem all the time if you kinda jump start it by holding the power button(play) as you plug it in you can sometime get it to work

Sansa Express not responding and not turning on

Just to make sure you are doing the reset right, try these: First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.

My gogear is frozen. One song ended and before the next one started it froze and it has been like this for several hours. It doesn't respond to any of teh buttons being pushed

Try doing a soft reset. 1. Press and hold the Power on/off key and the volume + key for a couple of seconds. 2. Then switch on the GoGear using the Power on/off key. Note: Your songs and data will not be lost or corrupted by a soft reset. Update your players firmware to the latest version to reduce the chance of future hang-ups. Philips mp4 wont turn on or take charge

This is a hardware-related issue, and several things could be wrong with the player - the battery could be bad, the usb port could be damaged, or the circuit could be damaged.

Before you go opening up your GoGear, call Philips and see if you are eligible for an in-warranty replacement.

There is only one "soft" fix you can try, but most likely it won't work:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

My GoGear 8G wont come on

1. On you computer, ensure that Philips Device Manager is running.
2. Turn your mp3 player on (it should freeze at the Loading or GoGear Screen).
3. Plug in the mp3 player to your USB/Charger cable (ensure it is connected to the USB port on your computer), and then perform a soft reset (Power switch down and Volume up button simultaneously).
4. Let go of the other buttons as soon as the player resets. Hold the Volume down button until the player comes on. The player will be recognized by Philips Device Manager and will report a problem (and will allow you to repair it). Windows will also recognize it as a Mass Storage Device.

Cant switch it on!

This could be a hardware issue (requiring repalcement), but try the "soft" fixes first:

Make sure the lock slider is not in lock position, and then try turning the player on again. Connect to the computer, and see if you get any activity. If all else fails, try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
