Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

Isn't heating up. takes forever to dry,

Disconnect the complete exhaust vent tubing and clean it out thorourghly. Then it will dry. There is a moister sensor in your dryer and when the lint builds up inside the vent tubing the sensor shuts off the burner to prevent fires from starting

Maytag LDG7400 gas dryer does not stay lit long enough to heat the drum. Can see flame turn on for about 10 seconds then back off for 20 to 30 seconds. Continues cycle of on and off until end of time....

Light sensors detect when burners are lit. If they become blocked with lint, dust, etc., they will not detect the flame and, for safety purposes, automatically shut off the gas flow.

Dust and lint are a dryer's worst enemy. Be sure that all sensing devices (particularly optical sensors) are clear of dust and lint so that light can pass unobstructed into the lens.

If they sensors are all clean, they might be defective. Something is erroneously telling your dryer's control that the burners are not lit and thus the gas supply is shut down.

Partial drying

if it's a gas dryer you have bad gas coils, also you might need a clean out,if the air isn't blowing out of the dryer the clothes will not dry,you need to go outside and make sure the flapper is blowing fully open, if it's a long vent line that goes through the wall to reach the outside take the vent line off the back of dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower, then you need to clean out the duct that your lint filter slides into and then vac out the inside of dryer, you should clean it out or have someone come in to clean your dryer out at least once a year so you don't have a fire more so with gas cause you have an open flame in there,if it's gas,run the dryer and see if the ignitor is glowing and lighting the burner, check it again in like a half hour and if the ignitor is lighting the burner you have bad gas coils,if you need more help send the model number located around the opening where you put the clothes in the dryer and let me know if you need anything else
