Question about NorStar T7406 Cordless Phone

1 Answer

Blinking lights This phone is 4 years old and I think it died. When you put in a battery the lights on either side of the display and the one around the antenna blink continually. The screen flashes scanning and the time it thinks it is but it is blinking as well. The symptoms continue when in its charging station as well. On its base station the item plugged into a working line (I tested this with a non mobile nortel phone) and is plugged in to the wall. Its light is blinking. The dip switches are 1 off 2 on and 3 off (maybe it got bumped and I don't know what it was originally; I doubt that is the issue.) Could be the base station died. I have no idea of what all to check to verify each component is working. I only have one handset.

The blinking cordless handset seems to be your main issue. IT should not continue to blink after a start up. I think if you replace the handset and sync it to your base station, your problem will be resolved. The T7406 phones are not the most rugged handsets. IF this unit was dropped, a lo of your symptoms make sense.

Nikon D40 green light flashing even when off

Sorry to hear this. Dropping something on concrete creates a high G force. Can you make sure the battery is fully charged before you put it in. If you have a good battery and all it does is blink something must have been broken. I think a D40 is a rather old camera too. Sorry I do not think I can help you. In most times a LED green blinking means it is charging. When carrying a camera you should wrap the strap around your wrist. If you do it correctly if you drop your camera it will not hit the ground. It is best to keep it from dropping on the ground.

I need to buy a drill/driver for DIy at home, I am medium skilled handy. Do the batteries in the battery operated ones die if not used/recharged regularly. What are the medium to good avilable.

The battery tools are the way to go, the batteries last a couple years or more. I have a couple that are almost 5 years old. For the home and light construction I would go with the Ryobi 18 volt. The price is very good and they are very dependible. Think about a set (drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw, and flash light) they will all come in handy around the home and sets are cheeper. You can find them at Home Depot

Camera won't turn on, light just blinks

Your fix could be as simple as cleaning the camera's battery contacts, or it could be something more serious and expensive. First try removing the batteries and cleaning the camera contacts with a small metal brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. If that doesn't fix the problem, check the Kodak Help Center by clicking on the link below. It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

Blinking battery light

Green is charged, Orange is Charging and Red indicates a low charge or a possible weak or defective battery. All modern batteries are controlled by a microprocessor that monitors the health of the cells. Even if the battery is holding a workable charge, it can still be deemed "bad"

If the battery is fairly new you might get a replacement from Dell, if its a year or more old, it could be dying an early but not abnormal death. If more than 1.5 years old, be sure to check the Dell battery recall list as some of these are recalled and you'll get a free battery replacement if its on the list!

Charger blinks red and does not charge

This maybe a solution. I had the same issue just now. Pulled battery, put back in, placed on dock, and still blinking red. So I removed the camera from the dock, pulled battery, put same old battery back in, placed on the dock and turned the mode switch on right away before it started blinkin red. It seems to be charging now with one bar and has not gone blinking red for 15 minutes.

I was outside with the camera in 10 degree weather taking pics of my dogs but had been inside for 20 minutes before placing it on the doc. I think something may have happened with the charging circuit and turning it on right away with it on the doc may have reset the charging. Try it. Hope it works for you.
