Just bought new Ferguson F2408LVD3. Can't tune ITV stations and a few others. HELP, got to tearing hair out time

They are probably engineers working on your local digital transmitter or the wind has moved your ariel slightly.
This message is always to do with signal and is not a fault with the tv.

You need to have a licensed antenna repairer out to fix your antenna. Just because your old tv is receiving enough signal to JUST get a picture doesn't mean your new tv will, A new tv doesn't mean you will get a perfect picture if your antenna is dodgy

Do a full channel scan again. It should solve that problem.

You need to do a Full Factory Reset tuning rather than just a rescan.

Rescan simply looks at the place holders where the old channels were stored and refreshes them. A Factory Reset (A.K.A. Shipping Condition) wipes the channel memories and starts again fresh.

If that doesn't solve it then it could be a problem of too much signal on certain strong channel groups (BBC and ITV). Your aerial is more sensitive at some frequencies, so there's more signal power higher up the frequency range. If ITV has been moved to where the aerial is stronger then it could be oversaturating the tuner.

A simple and inexpensive diagnosis tool is a variable attenuator. The MA1620 on this page is perfect for that job:

It will give you a way to reduce the signal level at one TV without affecting the other TVs in the house.

The one that does not work: have you tried to unplug it for a while from power and plug it back to see if it will reboot and allow you to program?

If you are in an area that is being switched over from analogue to digitial you might lose channels to do with that. Another reason could be the leads between the TV and Aerial connections. Make certain that they have good connections and use proper screened cables. Some people also have several transmitters around them, some of which have weaker signals than others. Some channels will therefore not appear. Check the box is tuning into the strongest signals.
If you manual retune then find out the frequencies of the strongest transmitter in your area first and set it on them.

Cant get any itv channels after retuning my new tv because of bad reception on itv channels.its a new aerial and the tv in other room ok its HITACHI 26ins L26HPO3U

in the manual i noticed a note about the active antenna and it should be showing not active when standard antenna is used.i also tried channel scan instead of first time installation which i tried a few times.so i dont really know which worked,just kept trying.

try tuning tv in another room, if it works it is then your cable or socket, try the cable next. If it wont tune its a faulty set.

I just installed a new backlight inverter on a Toshiba LCD tv, now I have picture on the right half of the screen and the left side is still dark. Any suggestions? The screen was completely black, but I could see picture when using a flashlight. I purchased a Backlight Inverter ( I believe it was a used inverter that was repaired and tested), but it only fixed half the screen. Is it a bad (new) inverter, or something else? Long story short, I acquired a Vizio M70-C3, the power button works but the TV will not turn on, the red on the optical audio also turns on, after about a minute, the TV seems to "shut off" as the light starts blinking and the optical audio red turns once again black/off. I have replaced capacitors on the powersuplly board, and even replaced with new one thinking I messed something up, however, the issue is the same still, so, my question is; Is it the main board? Is it tcon? Or what else could it be?
