I have a 7 yr old Miele G 641 SC Plus dishwasher, the inlet/drain light comes on and stops the wash cycle.I have tried cleaning the water inlet filter, drain pump and non return valve many times, the wash cycle then starts with the pump out of existing water and can sometimes go for about 20mins( sometimes happens a soon as the water starts to flow in) into a cycle before stoppinig again with inlet/drain light on.

SOURCE: dishwasher stops after 10 minutes inlet/drain light flashing

I had the same problem on a 5 year old model. It was the main pump leaking from a perished seal causing the water protection microswitch to trip. This gives the symptoms you describe exactly. Parts cost from Miele was about £60 for a new seal. Fairly easy to fit.

SOURCE: Optima G2430 Miele dishwasher with intake/drain flashing light

Hi,
F13 is an inlet fault.
First the unit drains and then fills with water. When the unit has intially drained open the door and manually fill the unit with water, about 5lts. This will then allow the dishwasher to go to the next step which is to circulate the water. If this works ok then the water tap is defective, water inlet valve is defective or the electronic unit is not sending the signal to activate the valve. The water inlet valve is the white square box attached to the tap. Remove this and check the filter and make sure water comes out of the tap.If ok then remove the bottom panel of the unit under the door. On the right hand side there is a 2 core cable with a male and female connector. Unplug this and check for voltage from the electronic when the unit goes to fill with water. If there is 240v then the electronic is ok. You will then need a new waterproof system from Miele.

SOURCE: Inlet/Drain light is on. I have cleaned the drain

Is the water inlet turned off by chance? Is there no water at all inside the dishwasher?

Miele G892 SC dishwasher stops 5 minutes after starting with flashing inlet/drain light. The drain is working because it drains at the beginning. Water is also coming in. None of the holes in the spray are...

If your Miele G892 SC dishwasher is stopping 5 minutes after starting with a flashing inlet/drain light, there could be a few different reasons. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the water pressure: Make sure that the water pressure is within the required range for the dishwasher (between 1.5 and 5 bar).
  2. Check the inlet hose: Make sure that the inlet hose is not kinked or clogged.
  3. Check the water inlet valve: Make sure that the water inlet valve is not clogged or malfunctioning.
  4. Check the water level sensor: Make sure that the water level sensor is not clogged or malfunctioning.
  5. Check the control board: Make sure that the control board is not malfunctioning.
  6. Check the temperature sensor: Make sure that the temperature sensor is not malfunctioning.
  7. Contact Miele customer support: If you have tried all the above steps and the dishwasher is still not working, it may be best to contact Miele customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to keep in mind that the Miele G892 SC is an older model dishwasher, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services.

We have a Miele G 692 SC PLUS dishwasher. We moved into our home four years ago. This is the first time it has flashed on red inlet/drain . Our filters are obviously blocked, but there was no...

Mine had a low drone when the power was on and the door was closed as if it was mid-cycle. Start/Stop would let you select different cycles but they would all result in the Drain/Inlet light flashing after a minute and the drone continuing.

I put 3L of water in it and power cycled - it drained that without issue. The water inlet wasn't blocked so I removed the base plate to find a tiny amount of water - possibly from tipping it up?

Anyway, I found the polystyrene float and mcroswitch, cleaned them reinstalled. No more droning noise and everything seems to be fine now. I will check for water in a couple of days just in case there was a leak. It does appear that the float/switch put it in a flood/drain mode. I've also extended the feet slightly in case the uneven floor accentuated the issue as the float is very close to the base pan

Water staying at the bottom of the washer. When i close the washer an press start the inlet/drain light comes on and nothing else happens.Miele G 692 SC PLUS

Your drain outlet is blocked , pull all the filters out and then check nothing is stopping the impeller from turning. You have to bucket out all the water first of course. It can be a toothpick or just some gunk,

Outlet/inlet light flashing on miele dishwasher G674SC

Usually indicates a intake or drain fault - could be a plugged drain line at the garbage disposal or insufficient water coming into the unit

Dishwasher stops after 10 minutes inlet/drain light flashing

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Miele G 7856 Commercial Dishwasher

Hi. The above machine stops mid cycle and drain/fill light is on, also error code F3E, have cleaned both hot and cold water inlet filters, also checked drain pump and drain line, all ok. Machine drains with no issues and fills with hot water, runs for a while then shuts down.
Any ideas?

Another inlet / drain light cycle interruption problem!

When the water stops too soon, it could be the "over flow" is stuck in the downward position, therefore the dishwasher thinks it's going to over flow. Check that out. Otherwise I'm afraid this sounds like the circuit board is shot.

Wash motor does not run: Inlet/Drain error

Wordhog: Does sound like a siezed wash pump to me. Wash motor needs to run to get the correct level of water.

To drain a Miele dishwasher, start the machine on a cycle. All the Miele range of dishwashers drain before filling. Then hold in the start button until the end/finish light is lit. Keep doing this until all the water has gone. You could just get a jug and bail it out. Once the jug does not do the job anymore, switch to a cup, I use a very large syringe for the remaining half a litre.

Miele G646SC Plus dishwasher Drainage / inlet warning light

I had the same problem a few days ago. I followed the instructions to clean the filter and check to see that the impeller was free to rotate in both directions. The problem persisted. After reading this thread, and a similar one on another site, I tried what mikeboerma suggested in "solution #3", and bingo, problem solved. The magic combination is to push and hold the on/off button and the start/stop button.
