Weird, annoying noise every so often

When using my 42PFL7403D/F7 Philips TV, every so often it starts to do a continuous, very loud, random blowing/buzzing sound through the speakers that can only be stopped by turning off the TV and then turning it back on. however, this noise seems to be directly related to whats going on on the TV. As an example, when playing my PS3 on the TV, the noise started, but when i was going through the menu of the game i was playing, the noise pulsed with it (the game usually makes a sound when flipping through the menu) There doesn't seem to be a pattern to these occurances, because it can go for a few days without this happening and then the next day it can happen 3-4 times in 1-2 hours. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

We are having the same problem as the one described by troopakoopa.

Our tv is only a week old and the weird buzzing sound has already four or five times. The only way to get it to stop is to shut the tv off and turn it back on. What's the Problem?

We have the same problem with a 42PFL7403D/F7. Despite suggestions to reset the unit, power down for an extended period (we tried 3 weeks) and holding down the power button, the volume of Unit will every now and then jump to a very distorted and very LOUD sound.  Only  powering the unit OFF and back ON resolves this issue.  Had it happen on different inputs.

No answer but I have owned this TV since 2008 and it has always made a loud static-like sound. And as you mentioned the only way to solve that is to turn off the TV and then turn it back on.

Is this happening on just on input?

If so... Check your connections. If you are using the component cables, make sure you haven't plugged the right audio into the red video input. it's a common mistake. I see it all the time.

If this is happening on all inputs, be sure the noise is coming from the speakers. Then replace the main board.

Try the above link to download its user manual, and make sure that the panel lock to your TV is OFF. If it is ON, you can't do anything with its front panel switches. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
