Cordless phone My handset will not work, but the base does. We have Replugged it back in and has been recharged, but will not still work. My husband says he thinks there is a code to unlock. Could you please help me? Thanks

There´s no dial tone on my handset with any of the two lines that handles. I got two phones of this model at my office. One of the handset´s wont give dial tone. If I switch handsets with the base that does works both handsets work fine. Neither of the handsets will work with the other failling base. Both bases have dial tone with base lines 1 and 2 buttons if I try dial mode on speaker phone of the base.

I tryed the basic system reset. I have tryed the * + # battery reset on the handset and also the reseting of code.

Please help! I love this phone...

If you still have the manual try looking at the troubleshooting guide and see if your problem is mentioned in there. Or you may need to reset or put in the digital security code. It will tell you how to in the manual.

When we are talking to someone they say they can`t hear us

Today, Nov 5, 2011, we had the same problem. I put the handsets in the bases and unplugged the power cords from the outlets. Then I opened the battery compartments and unplugged the batteries. I then replugged the power cords and put the batteries back into the handsets. I put the handsets back onto the bases and waited for a couple minutes. Then reprogramed the date and time on the # 1 handset. I then placed a phone call to an outside phone and VOILA! They could hear my voice! Hope this helps Earl Sealy even though it is sorta late.

I have a uniden 5.8GHz cordless phone with 3 handsets. But now 2 of the handsets do not work. The base lights up to show it is charging and when I pick up the phone, the handset says...

You may have a problem with your battery. Usually the rechargeable battery goes bad on those units. Swap the battery from the working handset to one of the non working ones.

Uniden cordless handsets don't hold charge

Have you tried replacing the batterys with new rechargables? if not open up the back and replace old batterys with new ones, just see if it works with a normal non rechargable batterys if it does buy some new rechargable, other than that your base i.e. charger may be faulty most likely it is the batterys.

* CHECK YOUR AC OUTLET WITH NO LOOSE CONNECTIONS.(remove multi adapters mostly caused problems)
* FULLY RECHARGE THE BATTERIES.
* CLEAN DE BATTERY CONTACTS IN & OUTSIDE THE HANDSET & THE BASE UNIT.
* IS THE BATTERIES DON'T GET CHARGED FULLY IN OVER NIGHT.PLEASE REPLACE THOSE.
* REPLACE WITH ONLY RECOMMENDED RECHARGEABLE BATT"S.
* PLACE THE BASE UNIT AT CENTRALIZED AREA FOR THE MAXIMUM HANDSET RADIATION.
* KEEP THE BASE UNIT AT SAME FLOOR.

My landline phone dialtone I get a beep,beep,beep before dialtone

I had the same problem. To fix it, I unplugged the base from the wall, and the battery from the handset, left it all unplugged for 30 seconds, and then replugged everything back in. It works fine now.

Searching In The Display Window

I unplugged the base unit and took a battery out of the handset. I then put the battery back in the handset and replugged the base unit. This corrected the problem.

Phone line gets glitched and phone gives one very short ring with error message on readout.

Brand new cordless handset -- no dial tone, no ring!

I doubt it's the battery. As I understand it the base works fine and the problem is only with a cordless phone. Are you using an external charger stand for the cordless handset? These phones need to be registered to the base unit. That is usually done by installing the cordless phone in the base unit but you may need to do that shortly after insalling the battery or you could have a register button or setting.
