Question about Breville CBL10 BlendMaster Classic Work Top Blender
We have been using the Breville CBL10 for a few months with good results. Suddenly the blades don't seem to engage with the motor drive. The disk on the top of the motor unit spins, the blade mechanism appears to be intact but the blades simply no longer spin under load. The blades will spin when the jar is empty but without any real strength behind then. Its almost like the shaft on the blade mechanism is broken and the blades are just spinning with the momentum of the broken shaft but when we turn the blades by hand, the shaft is solid. Any ideas?

You would need something like this

Unfortunately your model is an very old one for which the chinese manufacturer no longer makes parts. Try to find the part at repair shops - they might have one , recovered from dismantled units - or just accept that it's dead and buy a new one.

SOURCE: The engine is working, and the blades will spin in
Sounds like the gear teeth may be stripped

I have Breville ikon Hemisphere LCD Blender, it seems to do the same/similar problem. I put ice in and the blades just stop. With water blades spin but not real fast. I can lean the glass pitcher a quarter inch any way and it seems to start working. I removed the glass mixing pitcher allowing me to see the black gear on top of the motor the engages the blades. I depressed the safety switch so I could turn the unit on. While running I can touch the black gear with one finger and stop it from turning. Very strange. Has the gear come loose from the motor shaft? Makes no sense.
