Hello Chub,
Your motherboard manual can be downloaded at this link:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
If you go to page 2-31 in the above manual the diagram should show you exactly where your front panel power switch connects to your motherboard. You want to connect it to the position marked below as ?ATX Power Switch?.

Unfortunately, Asus no longer lists this motherboard on their site, the closest numbered one is A8R-MVP, but it has a completely different front button configuration.Unfortunately, Asus no longer lists this motherboard on their site, the closest numbered one is A8R-MVP, but it has a completely different front button configuration.

pin configurations are printed in the mother board.watch carefully .it may be just few inches away from the front panel connector.
Even u cant find it...
you dont worry about it.You just assemble the
Cpu ,SMPS
then switch on the main .
then short a moment( 1second ) at any two pins which is in the front panel connector ( using tester/sqrew driver);continiously cheak like this one by one pair of pin(Verticaly and Horizontaly).
when you short the corrrect pin, then system on.so you can find it like this.then connect the power button easily.

Thank you
Power Led?
hard drive Led wires?
If you are building a machine these areusually pluged directly into the motherboard.
the plugs are usually only compatible to their special sockets on the board. all you need to do is to examine the plug ends and look for sockets withsimilar shape and size as the plug.
hey look close to the nearby processorin motherboard there is 9 pin (depends on motherboard) for power and for reset button... close your eyes to motherboard at that place you will find also the name which are mention in motherboard e.g. power and reset in motherboard just plug red wire in power and and green for reset ( depends on motherboard) you an chk manually ...
If the plug is square it is most likely the 12volts power supply for CPU fan on some motherboards. Don't worry about it, your motherboard does not require this connector and it probably gets the 12 volts from a different connector. Check your old motherboard to see if this connector is for a fan. You can power up and check this connector's voltage with a multimeter.
the comon colors for usb are [red +5v] [white data -] [green data +] [black ground] and you need pinouts on your mother board also you may have 2 jacks so there is a 9 pin connector on board for external usb jacks, just get the manuel for it on internet but I need the motherboard number and make
This board I think is an OEM board built by Asus for HP computers. Also named Pegasus.
Go here to find a PDF manual for that particular board - http://www.ctechinfo.org/manuals/pegasus_manual.pdf
On page 22, the last page, it shows you the pin-out for the connections for the front panel, ie - power button, reset, led's, etc. Hope this helps.
