My remote quit working after it accidentally got sat on. It acts like it is locked. It will turn receiver off and on but that it all, it won't even turn the volume up or down.

The power button does not turn the DVD player on. When tested with a digital camera I can see a flash of light when the power button is operated but it is not a steady light. Some of the other buttons also have just a flash while some have a steady light. I am not sure if the problem is the remote on in the electronics it operates.

I have found a solution to the question. This remote will allow a user to control a SONY receiver by pressing the "Use Mode Key" at the top of the remote, and AV1 or AV2 button, in the first line of buttons toward the top of the remote, at the same time and this allows for control of an unlimited number of SONY receivers

I have a Sony theater reciever that I bought off eBay with no remote. So I looked around and Sears was selling a Sony Universal remote RM-VZ220 saying it was compatible with my Sony STR-K670P AM/FM...

1. Make sure you have good batteries in the remote and they are installed properly.

2. Press the DVD button on the second row of the remote, then check if the Power and other buttons on the remote work with your system (it probably won't since the factory setting is for a Sony DVD player, not a home theater system).

3. If it doesn't work you need to find the correct code number for your system and enter it into the remote. Press and hold the SET button for more than 3 seconds until the SET indicator lights up. Keep holding the SET button down and press the DVD button, then release both buttons. Then enter the code 31622. If you have done this correctly the SET indicator flashes 3 times, if not start over.

4. See if the remote now controls the theater system correctly. If not, repeat the above procedure #3 with the following codes one at a time until you find one that works: 31558, 31658, 31758, 31822, 31858, 32522.

Sony rm-pp411 av system remote not connecting to str-k840p amplifier

The problem might not be your remote. It could be your IR sensor in the reciever.

Disassemble or open the remote control Sony RM-YD035

if Sony Remote RM-YD035 does not change channels or turn off TV, the buttons got dirty coz those are you most used buttons.

You can repair Sony Remote RM-YD035 yourself. It's quite easy and fast, with perfect result!

To disassemble or open the remote control Sony RM-YD035, first remove a single screw in the battery compartment. Then use a very thin but strong screwdriver and insert it between top cover and the body at the back part of the battery compartment. Move the screwdriver up and down and slowly move it to the left and to the right and continue along the perimeter. Use two or three such screwdrivers and in 2-4 minutes the top cover plate with buttons will separate from the body/bottom/casing.

Clean both parts thoroughly. And then gently put them back together in the opposite order. The parts will snap closing.

You are done.

Mine is now working perfectly

I am looking for a remote control for my H&B Home Cinema System HT 6500. The old one doesn't work anymore. I live in the Netherlands. I hope you can help me! Thomas

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:

http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821

They also sell replacement remotes.

There are several available cheaper on eBay . Search "HT-6500 remote" and check the 'include description' box.

This is the cheapest Buy-It-Now listed, <$20 delivered...

I don't know if I can make it any clearer. My remote RM-PP411 suddenly stopped working. It has new battries and the use mode light lights up when any key is pressed. I turned the STR-D685 on by hand and...

Please take these actions before we try yet another universal programmable remote 1. Clean the IR screen on your tv set. It will often appear clear in view with a reflective window which often has a black, blue, or red tint to it 2. Clean the same window on the programmable remote 3. From tons of experience, I've noticed that Sony tends to provide the most compatible remote for replacements 4. Please confirm with me which codes your attempting to use when programming, and type /model number of the universal remote 5. Keep in mind that the remote that does not work as a replacment may very well be exchanged 6. Only use approved batteries for your remote and keep in mind that rechargeable batteries account for 50 percent of electronic errors 7. If your old remote simply stopped working for no reason at all, then we may have a communication problem with the tv combo set itself. 8. Ensure that the tv set is ready and able to receive a signal by setting it to the factory defaults within the settings menu 9. If we know why your older remote simply stopped transmitting the signal, we will acheive a must faster solution 10. Please attempt a fresh set of batteries in the older remote to determine the root cause behind the transmission problem 10. Check your power cord for crimping, dents, or pinched underneath unit. Each of these activities will cause power to stop transmitting to your unit 11. the digital display is not popular for having problems. 12. Ensure that you press the power on button on the digital display firmly at an attempt to power the unit on. 13. If you still have not recieved power, we will continue to troubleshoot the internal portions
