How do I get the blades off? Very dirty fan needs cleaned.

Most fan blades are threaded on a shaft now. The threads are reversed so the fan doesn’t come
Off when spinning. Turn it clockwise if you are looking at it from the front to remove. In this case, it is lefty tighty, righty loosy!

Lasko table fan model 4916 , I would like to know how to take it apart to clean it.

Kevin-
LASKO's typically have latches or clips that hold the front fan guard to the back fan guard.
Flip latches or carefully remove the plastic clips. This will reveal the 'nut' that secures the fan 'blade assembly'. Note, the nut has 'lefthand' thread so to remove it, turn it clockwise to remove.
The fan blade assembly can be pulled / wiggled free.
The fan blade assembly can be washed with water / wiped with a cloth.
Another nut (righthand thread) secures the back half of the fan guard, remove it and remove the guard.
That should do it.

How discharge cleaning blade

Theres a lot of disassembly involved for that. You open the front door....unplug & remove the toner hopper open the right door & remove a metal cover...then take out the developer unit. Thedn back to the front to remove a cooling fan & then screws to take out the drum process unit to access the cleaning assembly and clkeaning blade. If you are not a copier technician....I would not attempt it and call one to get the job done correctly. I assume you must have streaks or lines on the copies which prompted your question.

Clean fan

Flip open the latches around the cage to open that part up. Once open, turn the knob in the middle of the blade to the right. Normally iyou turn it left, but on this ne you turn right. That enables yo to remove the blade. Behind the blade is a rather large plastic nut, which you turn to remove and that takes the back part of the screen off. Use your vacuum to vacuum out the dust from the motor, the cages, and the fan blade. After that use a mild soap and water solution to wipe off the rest. I found it very helpful if you use a thick wet hand towel to clean the wire cage. It cleans it very well! Then just put it all back together again and your fan will look brand new.

I have a Vornado floor f an, the blades iof which are coated with heavy dust. How do I remove the front protective screen to clean the blades.

On the model I have, the front grill just pulls off from the front; there are some tabs that you might need to release by pushing with a small screwdriver from the rear. After cleaning, just align the tabs and push it back in until they click back in and latch.

Fan blade is not rotating but there is noise

The rotor is stuck and the fan blade will not rotate then a humming noise can be heard. It is due to a bushing problem. It may be stuck due to a hardened accumulated dirt.
  1. Remove the fan blade guard.
  2. Remove the fan blade.
  3. Remove the 4 screws holding the stator assembly.
  4. Pull out the front plate of the motor and the rotor.
  5. Clean the bushing and the rotor.
  6. Lubricate the busing and rotor assembly.
  7. Reassemble in reverse order.

Lasko 3520 20-Inch Cyclone fan - disassemble fan for cleaning?

How do I clean my Cyclone or Air Companion™?
Lay the fan face up on a flat surface. The front grill should be facing you. Remove the screws from the rear grill. Place a flat-head screwdriver into the gap between the front and rear grills. Pull the front grill towards you, exposing the fan blade. Do not remove the knobs on either side. Then, wipe the blade with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild detergent if necessary. Be sure not to touch the motor. Click here to download product instruction sheet.

Cleaning

turn the fan over. on the back you'll see ten holes around the circumference of the cage. use a torx screwdriver of the proper size and remove them. the front part of the cage will come off. the blades are a press fit over the shaft and locating pin. have someone hold the body and pull off the blade.
