Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Fabric conditioner does not always go down Sometimes mixes with water and stays in dispenser, sometimes all that is left is water
Is this a front loader with a top fill dispenser? If so, you have to know that Fabric softner is made with "wax". It does build up and can clog smaller openings that dont receive much heat. Usually heat or the warmer water will keep the softner product soft enough and doesnt cause clogging. Try a cycle with hot water poured into the softner slot, or running a bit of amonnia through dispenser. If that doesnt help you might wanna try a local applicance shop, they often sell kits with the small long wired handles to clean the dispensers in front loaders. THey make special cleaners for these as well.

My dispenser was always full at the end of the programme. I took the drawer out and pushed a drinking straw down the hole that takes the conditioner into the machine... this was bunged up with gunge... has been fine since.
To get rid of the residue and get your machine sparkling... 1/2 cup of Washing soda crystals on a 60 degree wash. Run machine with no washing and let it run the full cycle..
Add 1 desert spoonful of washing soda to every wash.. sprinkled in the gap in the door seal to keep the machine in tip top condition and smelling great.
You will find your conditioner smells amazing when you get rid of the gunk...

hi there just try washing the complete soap drawer again in boiling water leave in there for 10minutes to let the hot water work into the gaps and make sure u take all the holders out of the drawer u sometimes have to use a tooth brush to get into the small holes at the bottom of the little funnel what your softener holder goes over also get a small flat blade screwdriver and clean inside that funnel if thats not clean it will stop softener from going away if this doesnt work still then when your softener is supposed to be taken thru the programme make sure the washer opens the valve for the water to go into the fabric softener holder if it doesnt then the solenoid will need replacing as this could be faulty. LET ME KNOWHOW U GET ON PLEASE PETER

This is usually just as simple as adjusting the syphone up and down. releveling your machine or cleaning the dispenser itself. when the water enters the dispenser gravity syphones the water out . nothing really machanical about it. unless the water is not filling up the cup enough to go above the max line. you can test it by putting water in the dispenser above the max line and adjusting the syphone cap up and down.this should grab a suction.

I was having the same problem. Repair man replaced VALVE AW
He told me it is from the sedement in your water. If you have a water softner, it may not be the problem, unless it is not working properly. Sounds strange, but problem is fixed.

It appears your softener cup's release door solenoid has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
