SOURCE: Battery won't show full charge

I called sandisk. You have to have service pack 2 on your windows XP and you have to have Windows Media Player version 10 or 11. One one of my laptops I had version 9 and it wouldn't work, I changed laptops and it works just fine.

SanDisk Sansa C240 1 GB MP3 Player only shows half empty battery picture on screen and wont turn on. So it needs fixing.

Replace the internal Li-Po battery, but try a reset first.

If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

Hello! I hope you can help me.I charged sansa clip in the usb drive for 24 hours and when I went to get it the clip is froze. I can't do anything. It's dead! The computer even says that the clip has a...

Hi

Try and reset the player by inserting a pointed object inside the small hole, press and hold for 5-10 seconds to let the player reset. If this doesn't work then connect the player with the computer and let it charge for a while. Now go to control panel-> administrative tools-> computer management/system management-> storage, check if you are able to see the mp3 player here. If it is visible then try a reset and try again. If not then reset the player while it is connected with the system. This will resolve your issue. Please post back if you need more information.
Hope this helps...

The refresh database froze.

This has happened to me a dozen times since I've owned mine. It's a piece of junk. But to fix it, you'll have to reformat it from 'recovery mode'. Here's a repost of a solution that worked for me:
  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Switch Sansa to Hold (top switch toward headphone jack).
  3. Hold record button and connect to computer thru USB cable.
  4. The player should say Recovery Mode and USB connected.
  5. In My Computer you should see 16MB FORMAT J: (or another drive letter)
  6. Double click the drive
  7. Drop down the file menu and create a new folder
  8. Name that folder: sansa.fmt
  9. Disconnect the USB (either end) and Sansa will format and reset system.

Is there driver/ software for Win ME for the Sansa Clip mp3?

a friend told me that if the device shows as"connected" when hooked up (it does) AND the battery charges correctly (it does), then (a)the USB connection had enough juice; and (b) the PC recognizes it - i just had to FIND it. device manager/ MyComputer: nada; same for ANY file/ folder with "sansa" or "sandisk." working thru WMP (Windows Media Player), however, I discovered that drive E - for a portable hard drive, NOT currently connected via USB - was STILL showing up in the "Copy to CD or device" field. sure enough, it was the SanDisk clip player (even though it was NOT under the "Recognized Portable Devices" subsection). without using the installation disk at all, it downloaded tunes just fine. *note: the installation disk seemed to be an .exe file ONLY for the Rhapsody music service. as noted above, it was unnecessary. also - my USB ports are 1.1 and not 2.0, and package stated USB 2.0 was a "minimum requirement" - not true*

Sansa 1g clip wont turn on.

did you try holding the power button on for ten seconds (the reset) after trying to charge it again? does it even power up when you plug it into the usb. if it powers on when connected to the usb and then shuts off immediately when you take it off the usb (rather than "refreshing database") then your battery is either 1)disconnected inside 2)dead or there may be issues with power management. Same thing happened to me (disconnected) but I soldered the loose connection and it only worked for two days, even checking the connections again. Now I don't know what's going on. It's more likely the battery has reached the end of its life.
