Hi,I had this plasma tv for 1 month and since I bought a new stand and connected it to an amplifier am having a strange noise coming from the rear of the panel.
The noise is hard to describe although after trying to disconnect all my equipment(amplifier, dvd, wireless box)from underneath the screen is still there.
Sounds like the fans is there a hest source nearby or underneath, plasmas suffer severly from this thats why they so cheap everybody buying lcd at the moment no heat or screen burn issue but not as good a picture(when they are cool) the gasses distort the picture when hot hence cooling fans
hope this helps
ps warranty void if over a fireplace or next to a rad dont tell you that do they!!!!
Since the noise started with the new stand, I would suspect vibration as the noise. Did you attach the new stand to the plasma with screws?
If the stand is not the issue, then, a fan inside could be making the noise. I have found the flex cables from various boards inside the set causing strange noises. Touch the back of the set and see if the noise goes away or changes in specific areas.
When Plasma Panels are set in a corner, they seem to make a louder noise than usual. It could be the panel as well.
If the set is one month old and bought from a retail store, then, it should be under warranty and a servicer could be called.
Let me know what you found out.

hi , you panasonic plasma tv maybe have more than one problems in the sub power supply # etx2mm704mgb & power supply unit # etx2mm704mgh or #etx2mm704mgn. you must check original one what # ? parts you buy on shop jimmy.com. good luck!
The noise is coming from one of the plasma driver boards. There are 2 inside the set. These are essentially power supplies for the plasma itself and contain many capacitors. The noise you hear is some oscillation inside a cap or two. This is an indication that one or more components have drifted from their rated value. While the set will continue to work for a while, that board should be replaced. If the board fails, 1/2 of the picture will be blank or the set will not start at all. Call around to get the cost of that board. Please note that continued use of the set WILL NOT cause any harm. This is an annoyance only at this point.
