I have just hacked an LG 32LG4000 combo tv/dvd. To open up the dvd to multi region, turn on the tv & press the menu/set up button. Next, navigate to the lock symbol but do not open the sub menu. Press 0 seven times. Exit out of the menu, and your 'on board' dvd player will play dvd's from any region!

Sorry, Re: LG 32LG400 tv/dvd combo please ignore previous advice, it doesn't work!

This fix definitely does. Press the menu/setup button on the remote & the menu button on the tv simultaneously for 5 seconds. A hidden dvd menu will appear, and you can change your region to worldwide. It may take a 'couple of goes' for the menu to appear but it will come up. So keep trying.

Can confirm it works, it will take 2/3 goes for the screen to appear and you have to change region to WORLDWIDE.

There may well be a menu option for changing region codes. You want to reset for region 0 (zero) which allows you to play any DVDs. Go through all the set-up options using the original remote. I have changed Phillips and many other DVD units just using the menu. Try set-up menu, then disc menu. It will be at the bottom, probably on the last menu option, under Region. Some website offer region codes also for specific units, but you will have to search.

I would like to make my LG HR825T region free, I have asked LG, but they could not offer any help. I have a large DVD library consisting of regions 1, 2 and 4, can anyone help?

I don't think you can make it region free but I discovered you can unlock the country code.. Go to setup, lock, area code (enter) 88888888 Now you can change the country code to wherever the disc is from, you do have to change it for each different region disc unforunately.

Plastation 3 wont load games tested blueraydrive in another console and it works everything else works can go on network and internet

It depends on the region that it is playable. I believe the reion code is the problem why it is not playing.

Or there are lots of scatches that the unit is unable to read

I have a LG HT554PH home cinema and would like a region code to enable it to play region 1 dvds. i have just paid £5 from a website and it is no use my dvd player wasnt on the list. there is a reion...

Hi

To make the player as region free, switch on the LG HT554 Player. Push the eject button to open the tray. Now, press “0” on your player 4 times or until the region code settings shows up on your player. It will show the current region code and will then ask for new region code. Press “0” on your remote to set it as a new region code(0=All Regions). Press Enter key on remote, now restart your player and check the player by playing the DVD’s. It should be region free now.
Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.

Region codes

No, you can't change the region codes. If at all possible I would take it back to the store and slap the salesperson!!!

Failing that, all games are not region coded, so you can play aus games on that machine. It seems the only thing it won't play is some blueray discs.
