Doesn´t work on mac

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. This is a known issue with the latest version of Skype. The latest version of Skype won't run on Mac pc so you need to download the older version of skype. Please uninstall the Skype program on on you Mac and download the older version on the link below.

You cannot open the application Skype because it is not supported on this architecture is an error caused by Skype and not by the webcam.

try the free Mac driver download for logitech web cams. i'm a mac addict for decades. not sure which Mac OS X u are running. my old mac is no longer dial-up. i know 7 mac OS-most recent on my ancient imac is 10.2.8- now forced to use 2 dif. windows(yuk) Os vista on laptop and XP on netbook. my fav. Mac os of all time was 7.5.3 on my power pC 6100/66. 250K hard drive.lol and ultra fast 66Mhz.hahaha.

Hi, Unfortunatly since the skype version 4 the Logitech Skype IP Phone is not longer supported. You will not be able to sync the contact from skype to phone, and might not be able to connect as well. Thanks and have a nice day

If you use windows vista, and installed windows live messenger, you wil have alway`s this problem, solution is, dont let msn start up with your pc.
The best way, under software remove msn messenger, and install again en dont let it start wen your pc start up. skype and msn dont working together.

Then to use it on the Web, do this.

Web Camera's have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/ )
set it up as follows:
Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Then click on the Video Settings.
The camera, if Installed Properly, it will come up and show a video picture.
Then, on the bottom of the page click save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and hear you.

B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.HTML )
set it up as follows:
Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on "Open the call setup assistant" and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on " "Show Menus." And then click on "Show the Menu Bar".
Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on " "Action."
Go to "TOOLS" and click "Audio and Video Setting" and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.

Haven't experienced this one, it should open if you right click on the icon in the tray at the bottom.

However you should still be able to change your Skype options, click on "skype", then "Tools", then "Options", then "Audio Settings", change microphone and speakers to "logitech" or whatever your computer has listed your device as. This should have the effect of changing logitech to "use handset" and gets the same result. Unfortunately the phone will never work as good as it should, for instance I can't make test calls. I hope this helpful.

Logitech does not make a Mac OSX Driver :(

There are couple ways to get it working.

Try Skype, people have reported that this camera works with skype.

Try one of these. (They are not free so I would try Skype first)

Handset shows DISCONNECTED.
On Logitech support page lookup document 6674 (search).
Boot computer with minimum og services and programs running.
Start Logitech handset program - this starts skype.
the handset will disconnect.
As soon I start the new LIVE MESSENGER BETA - the hanset disconnect.
Therefor I installed a msn messenger extension in Skype extras.
This gives me the opertunity to use msn messenger without using the LIVE MESSENGER PROGRAM - if I do - Logitech Handset will not work.
