Water and Ice does not work. Ice dispenser does not even turn.
Is there some sort of motor that lets the Ice dispenser and water work? Neither one works now. They both just stopped working. I don't think it's a frozen water tube because the Ice Dispenser does not turn and dispense the ice.
I am having the same problem. The little lights come on and my ice is still being made but will not dispense and neither will the water. It doesn't even make a noise. Every once in a while it will work so it seems like some kind of short in something???I am having the same problem. Re:
There is a motor that turns the auger for ice at the door but it has nothing to do with the water at the door. If you are sure the water line at the door isn't frozen then I'd suspect the control board isn't working (no power to the motor or the water solenoid valve). These diagrams may help you see what's inside so you can look deeper into the issue.
If you can, try turning the ice auger by hand (dump all the ice out first). Also check that melted ice didn't re-freeze and bind up the auger, etc. If you can leave the fridge off a day with the freezer door open that would melt any frozen water line, just to be sure that's not the problem.

If your refrigerator's ice maker is working, but no ice is dispensing through the dispenser, there are a few possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the ice chute: Make sure the ice chute is clear of any ice obstructions. Sometimes, ice can get stuck in the chute, blocking the flow of ice to the dispenser. Use a plastic utensil or a straw to clear any ice buildup or debris in the chute.
Inspect the dispenser mechanism: Open the dispenser area and check if any part of the mechanism is obstructed or damaged. Look for any ice blockages or misaligned parts that may be preventing ice from being dispensed properly. Clean or repair any issues you identify.
Verify the dispenser solenoid: The ice dispenser is usually operated by a solenoid that controls the release of ice from the ice maker. Ensure the solenoid is functioning correctly by listening for a clicking sound when you press the ice dispenser paddle. If you don't hear a click, the solenoid may be faulty and require replacement.
Check the dispenser motor: The dispenser motor is responsible for activating the auger that pushes ice through the chute. If the motor is not functioning properly, it may need to be replaced. Test the motor by activating the ice dispenser and listening for any humming or buzzing sounds. If you hear the sound but the auger is not turning, the motor may be faulty.
Inspect the ice bucket: Ensure that the ice bucket is properly installed and seated in the correct position. Sometimes, if the bucket is not aligned correctly, it can prevent ice from flowing through the dispenser. Remove the ice bucket and reposition it securely.
Check the water supply: Make sure the refrigerator has a steady water supply. If the water supply is interrupted or the water filter is clogged, it can affect the ice production and dispenser functionality. Check the water line and replace the water filter if necessary
Well, there is no "motor" for the water dispenser, only a solenoid valve. However, there could still be a problem with the solenoid even if you do hear it when its energized. Hearing it make a noise does not mean its working properly.
Remove the ice bucket/container from inside the freezer compartment. Examine underneath at the front of the container to see if ice cubes are lodged between the metal blades. If cubes are caught in this area, they will prevent ice from dropping into the glass/cup.
I would check the door switch that turn the light on for freezer. When the door opens the switch changes to deactivate the controls on the dispenser panel and when shut should turn it back on. I will help you trace the problem because sometimes there is a broken connection from the dispenser panel to control board. Let me know, Sea Breeze
With out knowing your model of Amana it will be harder to locate the problem. It is rare that both water control valves would stop working at the same time unless you had a crimp or a line blockage feeding water to the refrigerator. First I recommend you turn the water supply off to the rear. Second I want you to disconnect the water feed to the water control valve on the rear near base and lean the line into a bucket so you can have the supply line turned back on just to make sure there is no blockage or crimp in the feed line. Third if you have a self piercing tap valve to supply the water that may be the problem because the hole is small and easy to collect rust or other normal particles in the line. Next you need to check the voltage at the water control valve side for the dispenser. Have someone press dispense water while a voltage meter is connected to the dispenser side female plug. And last of all the door switch may be the only problem. It is designed that when the door is open the dispenser panel is off. If when shut the switch does not make a connection, the dispenser pane, ice maker and auger motor are turned off. Let me know what you find, Sea Breeze
you have a possible water valve that is not shutting off all the way on the water dispensing side, it has 2 coils, one for ice and one for water. the other possibility is the dispenser tank is frozen, from being too cold in the refr. section and thats causing water pressure to continue running even when not pushing the lever. let the unit warm up slighty on the refr side and see if you can get water to flow properly. if not working after warming up, then you might have to replace the water inlet valve.
If nothing is blocking ager .. sounds like motor bad or something binding it up. If you took in out and cleaned all ice out and still dont work with no ice.. sounds like motor ..if it hums power is to motor
